Yeah, the treble sounded really good on the modded HD800. There was just more of it than I would like. I've heard an LCD3F, and I really liked it. It just wasn't as large of an improvement over the primes as I thought it would be, which I guess just goes to show how much I really like these...

I was able to find a matched pair of Amperex orange globes on ebay discounted to $50 because the silk screen had worn off of them, but the same seller also had normal ones for less than $100 per matched pair.

I have the Lyr 2 and he-500. I also got the socket savers and a pair of Amperex orange globes in addition to the stock tubes, and I've thoroughly enjoyed the setup.

I debated the fazor decision for quite some time and ended up buying a pair of non fazor rev2 from the classifieds recently. The bass is wonderful, and they sound warmer than the he-500s I was using if that helps. I'm extremely happy with them
