Advice needed on Closed Headphones in the $300 neighborhood
I posted this earlier on another forum that didn't get much action. I have been researching the internet and demoing different types of closed headphones and would like to hear from anyone who has experience with any of these types of headphones. I will primarily use these at home as well as...- moodyda

Looking for a closed pair of semi portable headphones for around $300
Did you notice the "B&W loudspeaker feel" that has been described from the Denon?- moodyda

Sony Walkman NWZ-A17
My bad I only read bits and pieces of this thread and I am referring only to SQ via cables not bluetooth. But I am seeing mdr-1a coming up and I am assuming that you are using wires unless you are referring to the Sony mdr 1a bluetooth version. In this case the volume would depend solely on...- moodyda

BlueTooth Sports In-Ears Recommendations
I've had many Bluetooth iem's and will list them in SQ/Fit/Price order for me: Jaybird Bluebuds X: Excellent sound and and the fit was unbeatable (you can even wrestle with these under headgear) I have seen them as low as $110 and are $170...- moodyda

Thanks for your helpful insight. What do you think of the Denons listed. I have read that they are incredible at bass reproduction and have a great soundstage to boot. Also, some referenced their sound akin to the old B&W Nautilus series speakers, which I truly enjoyed years ago.- moodyda

Sony Walkman NWZ-A17
FWIW I think that the Sony mdr-1a and Fiio X3ii are a great match. I am still in the process of finding something better than the Sony's, but I really like them. I know that this is about the Sony A17 and all I can offer is that I ultimately went with the Fiio X3ii. It even beat the highly...- moodyda

what are the negatives/ cons of the Sony Mdr 1a.
I have the mdr-1a right now and I really enjoy them. I have posted also on this forum looking for some help as well. I feel that the analytical "audiophile" sounding headphones get all the love. I personally enjoy a warmer more engaging type that has good bass response. I think that the...- moodyda

The FiiO X3 2nd gen (ex X3K, X3II) Thread : 192K/24B, CS4398,Native DSD, USB DAC with LO and inline remote
Not sure if this question has been answered yet. Will the X3ii act as a mass storage device (like a flash drive) in my car via usb. I have attempted it and it shows that it is charging but my infotainment system does not see it. Is there a special setting for this unit? It worked with the X1...- moodyda

Ibasso DX90 or Fiio X3ii (Second Generation)
Now you are judging by what someone else found. Did he level match and A/B both units? As I stated it sounded to me like there was very little difference between the 2 units once I level matched and A/B'ed them.- moodyda

What do you mean by indifferent? What does that mean about the M50x? The shures and Grados are very highly regarded headphones that work quite well for the genre of music that I listen to (progressive rock to metal)- moodyda

Ibasso DX90 or Fiio X3ii (Second Generation)
First of all if you have not listened to both devices you cannot comment on what one can or cannot do. Second, If you read the whole post, you will see that I did indeed first attempt to listen to both devices in several different fashions. I do agree that there seems to be more of a...- moodyda

Yes there is a slight difference in the sounds these 2 present, but for me I did not hear that much of a difference. Maybe you have better hearing.....I can only hear to about 14k now, but did you level match and A/B the 2 when you tested them?- moodyda
