Why does my vinyl sound bad?
Look for an integrated amp with adjustable settings for phono, like this one (the amp I own): http://www.thevintageknob.org/sony-TA-F700ES.html Sansui, JVC, Pioneer, Yamaha, Marantz, Onkyo, Denon, Kyocera, and other companies produced similar integrated amps.- Mike Scarpitti

https://youtu.be/Cjjsz14hL48 "I bought a Stereo! Wow! With two speakers! But then I heard the quad with the four speakers and I was like this is it, so I got rid of the stereo and got the quad. I'm listening to this thing and I'm like 'Hey this sounds like shiiit!' So, I got rid of...- Mike Scarpitti

I had a British import copy of Sandy, and in the song "Quiet Joys of Brotherhood", the pre-echo...- Mike Scarpitti

Why does my vinyl sound bad?
Phonograph records are grossly inferior to the best CDs. It's not even close. Don't drink the Kool-Ade. http://www.oregonlive.com/music/index.ssf/2014/11/does_vinyl_really_sound_better.html http://pitchfork.com/thepitch/29-does-vinyl-really-sound-better/- Mike Scarpitti

Ultimate Dark Side of the Moon recording?
I have an old UK version pressed in Swindon, and an old UK version pressed in Japan. Those two to me sound identical. I also have the 20th anniversary edition, which sounds a bit 'cleaner' but is definitely compressed in some way. For instance, the loud parts of Us and Them are definitely less...- Mike Scarpitti
