  1. Trinity Audio Engineering - Phantom Hunter

About Me: I'm just your average guy fresh out of college with a passing interest in audio fidelity. I'm NOT an audiophile, but I've got a little experience ranging from lower-end products to flagship designs. I tend to gravitate towards slightly warm sound signatures offering mildly mid-forward presentations. I don’t make professional reviews and by my own account, I’m not much good at describing what I hear either. But I’ll do my best and we'll just have to see how that goes. Introduction: Trinity Audio Engineering is a relatively new name in the...

  5. Monoprice 113194 25 Watt AB Power Amplifier Stereo Hybrid Tube Amp with Bluetooth

    3.00 star(s)
Introduction: A few months ago, Monoprice released their multi-function amp for the budding audiophile looking for a classic tube sound. I say multi-functional because it includes Bluetooth! Standard RCA-in is great and all, but sometimes you just wanna connect it to your Spotify playlist running on your phone. You can plug in headphones or hook up speakers in the back as well, making it a great all-in-one choice for a desktop setup. It's at a fantastically low price considering what they tout it can do and it looks pretty nice. But how did they do...

Introduction:   Hello everyone, I've been asked by a user to review the Takstar HI2050 so here we go. I'm just your average guy making his way through college with a passing interest in audio fidelity. I'm NOT an audiophile, but I've got a little experience with some of the lower end stuff as well as some mid-fi offerings such as the venerated Sennheiser HD600 and the much newer Philips Fidelio X1.   The Good Stuff...From China?   The Takstar HI2050 is a budget open headphone offering from Chinese company Takstar. I got it for about $50 from...
  7. Xiaomi Pistons 2.0 MK301

I'd say this is a great set of IEMs for its price if you're looking for that consumer v-shaped sound sig. It's not the most balanced sound sig, but for what it is, it sounds pretty good. The mids aren't very pronounced, but the bass is pretty good and the highs aren't piercing or anything to my ears. I had problems that maybe other people didn't have and that had to do with the fit. It could sometimes be a little difficult to get a seal these. They're also not well-suited for deep insertion due to the bulky housings and the very sharp edges on said...
