Cayin N6ii, Unlimited Possibilities: a fully modularized smart DAP
For Tidal you could install USB Audio Player Pro and add your account info into the Tidal streaming section. Offline playback isn't available but it should stream OK. Perhaps try before you buy as I don't use Tidal with UAPP so I have no idea if it will actually work. Apple Music, nope that one...- MarkParity

Sennheiser IE900 Review, Measurements, & Harman Target Talk
Plenty of portable devices are more than good enough to drive most full size headphones. Would you consider the Focal Stellia a full-size headphone, it certainly has a full-size price and can even be driven from a smartphone, assuming it has a headphone socket of course.- MarkParity

Chord Electronics ☆ Poly ☆ (wireless & microSD module for Mojo) ☆★►USEFUL INFO on 1st PAGE!!◄★☆
What are you talking about, I use mine as a portable device all the time. Stick an SD card in Poly and its a perfectly usable non-streaming DAP with separate screen, your phone. I once got into a discussion with someone here on Head-Fi that wouldn't accept that the Poly/Mojo combo is a DAP...- MarkParity

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
You guys must have awesome ears, to hear a difference, I can't find any measurements for the DC Elite but I expect it to be flat +/- 0.2dB. I found a frequency response graph for the R6 (not 2nd Gen), as expected, without EQ its basically flat from 0Hz to 20kHz. Perhaps I'm a flat-source'r. :)- MarkParity

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
Boomy bass is sort of the point with tracks like that, honestly I'd suggest turning the volume down a bit it sounds perfect to me at my listening levels 65-75dB, if you are pushing the volume much above that then a bass heavy track with an IEM like the MMKIII will start to sound a bit over...- MarkParity

Thieaudio Monarch MKIII impressions, reviews, and pictures thread
I gave it a listen, currently listening to track two as well from the album, sounds great to me. This is not a genre I listen to a lot but I'll listen to anything, once :) I'm driving my MKIII from an IBasso DC Elite, what is your source? Not too sure what you mean by wet but I'd imagine if...- MarkParity

A loaded question as your signature implies you believe a battery source is better as you use one yourself. My take on this no if the designer has done a good job then no the difference between powering with battery or clean mains electricity (the DNO stuff most people have in their houses)...- MarkParity

Introducing ONIX Overture XM5 - First Portable Player from ONIX
You make a good point, this one isn't really suitable for low impedance IEMs, luckily there are plenty of 20-30 ohm IEM options. I wonder how many people do actually use IEMs with DAPs though? I'd imagine more people than use DAPs with IEMs than full size headphones but I'm not so sure based...- MarkParity

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
G5 gets golfing panther status so it will be better than Mojo 2. Anything else will be subjective psychoacoustics so you really would have to compare for yourself. Might not be the answer you want but its the correct answer- MarkParity

Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Now I understand. :) Good luck with your search. I've not really got any other advice to offer as I'm on the fence about this whole more power thing, well slightly on the side of Mojo 2 has plenty of power available to drive most headphones and IEM's perfectly fine, for what its worth. By the...- MarkParity
