Ironmine, all electric parts deteriorate with time, the capacitors die after so many years etc. As for tubes, they have a certain life expectancy of a few thousand hours. The tubes we use in the LD1+ have a usage rating of up to 10.000 hours. You will probably upgrade your equipment...

I updated the first post with a few pictures of the tubes I have. Is anyone interested in doing a little tube swapping? Often you can not get simple pairs, so I have a few tubes I can trade. I am sure that others have different tubes / brands that they can spare as well. What do you say?

I am stupid.... no really I am .... I got my LD I+ this morning, and of course could not wait... So I opened it up and changed the settings to allow me to run the 408A (in my case the Jan 6028). I complained about the fact that the unjumpered positions do not include the spare jumpers...

After only 47h transit time I received mine this morning. I already like it, I think it really is a terrific little gem, and that is using it with high impedance AKG K240.... Can't wait for it to mature and to play with all the different options.

My amp should be here tomorrow With the various tubes to arrive over the next week. Always remember that forming an opinion about a tube takes time. You can not critique a tube until it has burned in, and since we are talking NOS tubes here I suggest a minimum of three days at 8hours...
