    1964 Ears

It took me six trips to 3 different audiologists before I got an acceptable set of impressions. I guess CIEMs are such a small fraction of clients needing impressions they can't be arsed to take the time to do them properly. Anyway, I've found that it's best to go in with a sample photo of...

Cool reference. It's an equation that has to do with matter-wave duality, though I've always seen it written as λ = h / p

    You've needed a 2nd refit on a 1964 Ears product?

I edited my review to include a photo of my custom silicone tips by ACS. Not sure why there are multiple comments with remarks about how to insert the earphones after I stated that I had custom sleeves, however potential buyers should know that the reason I have custom sleeves is because I...

After putting in my order for the V6-S, I'm seriously worried that it won't have enough bass. Can anyone tell me how the bass of the V6-S and V8 compares to, say, the Shure SE535?

For a "newb that doesn't know what he is missing out on" you came admirably close to an ideal level of peace and satisfaction on your first effort; you are to be commended! I'm reasonably sure they'll give you the Black Friday price on the V3; the level of customer service I've received from...

I actually use custom silicone sleeves made by ACS. Much better seal than any universal tip.

That's not true; mp3 encoded at 320kbps (or even v0) is going to audibly transparent for all intents and purposes, especially for the purpose of portable use. Don't take my word for it, feel free to conduct your own ABX test with apps freely available for both Windows and Mac (foobar2000, ABX...

Review by 'LostArk' on item 'Etymotic Research HF5 Portable In-Ear Earphones'

The Etymotic HF5 suffers from a marked lack of bass. It might not be immediately apparent to many listeners, as the majority of pop songs produced in the last 5-10 years reproduce the “sound” of bass in the midrange so that listeners will “hear” bass through virtually any speakers. A good...

Ordered a V6-S on Black Friday. Was wondering what type of cable connector it uses and if anyone had any suggestions for aftermarket cables. Did not get recessed sockets, btw. Thanks :)

    1964 EARS V6 Thread

Welp, just put in an order for a V6S. $580 shipped, probably the best value for customers of ever. Can't wait to compare them to my Shure's!

    1964 EARS V6 Thread

Trying to decide between V6 and V6S. The V8 is also on the table, but I haven't read much about it. I like the Shure SE535 / SE846, i.e. smooth treble / clear mids. From what I've read people say the V6S > V6, but I've heard some say the V6S can be fatiguing which concerns me as I'm really...

    GSM buzz-proof amp?

Is there a portable amp that is iPhone 5/6 compatible and can be used sans GSM buzz without putting the phone into airplane mode? Thanks :)

    DT770 sidegrade options

Not into modding, but thank you for the suggestion. I guess there's no such thing as a "cheap HD650," eh? Maybe I'll revisit the HD558...

    DT770 sidegrade options

After spending a lot of time with my Shure SE535, I'm finding the recessed mids / boom and tizz of my DT770 to be less appealing. I tried the HD558, which had decent mids, but the clarity was noticeably less across the board (not just treble), and I ended up returning them. Is there something in...
