I heard there's a program called 'disown' but it is usually only reserved for serious cases and also usually only seen in Asian cultures- lookingforIEMs

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
When you plug it in, it becomes the audio card of your laptop in a sense. You will thus be able to play songs on your laptop but use your qp1r to play it and get the SQ of the qp1r- lookingforIEMs

flinkenick's 17 Flagship IEM Shootout Thread (and general high-end portable audio discussion)
Good question. The JustEar CIEMs seem to be regarded as pretty much the best ciem out there ( especially since you can customise the sound to your liking ). Then again, the feedback has so far pretty much been from owners...- lookingforIEMs

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Yea with higher gain levels the bass gets tighter. I think of it as a upwards slope in terms of EQ. A tilt towards the treble. Which is also why I try not to use high gain, as the treble can get distracting for something like rock.- lookingforIEMs

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
I have heard talk that using high gain, especially for sensitive IEMs, can be detrimental and decrease the average lifespan of the iem. Any thoughts/ experience on this?? Also, I do find myself hearing minute differences between gain levels, mainly the bass getting a bit tighter and the highs...- lookingforIEMs

Review: Questyle Audio QP1R - With Multiple Headphone and IEM Pairings
Back when I had mine, and was using them with a whiplash twag, the sound was decent, although I did prefer a brighter and clearer sound and the twag nor the QP1R was bright enough to push the sound in that way. Driveability was okay. Used it at around 30 on high gain and maybe around 40+ on high...- lookingforIEMs

Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)
If you're not bothered by the treble peaks of the ex1000 and maybe even want to make it brighter, most silver cables do that. And yea most copper cables do kind of make the sound warmer and thicker. However, if you don't believe in cables and cannot hear any difference between cables, you're...- lookingforIEMs

High end (IEM) cable thread: impressions, pics, comparisons and reviews.
Ranko acoustics do make DIY parts like headphone jacks and are even used in tralucent audio cables... so I guess that can provide some credibility. I have no idea whether they make cables or not. Although, I do know of some DIYers in my local audio scene that can make cheap silver cables too...
