If you can get it for half price now, I'd say it's well worth it. Battery life and sound are both good.

Yeah, that's what confuses me. We know the original M7 has wifi in the hardware. It seems to me that the only thing that's needed to enable it would be a firmware update.

Decided to try Musicolet. Turned on Gapless playback and it isn't perfect on the M7, unless there's another setting I'm missing. My only complaint. Otherwise, it's a great little app. That, and foobar are now my go to on the M7.

True, the battery life would take a hit on the M7 but, I could live with it. That's one reason I like using foobar2000. It handles metadata almost flawlessly. Everything I've tagged shows up as I intended. I can't say that about many other players I've used. The latest versions of the Fiio app...

That's what did it. Once I installed Smart Things and opened it, it automatically triggers bluetooth and wifi. Since it requires a network connection and there's no way of managing wifi in the software, I uninstalled Smart Things. Since we now know the M7 has wifi built in, I would ask Fiio to...

No menu option. I tried to install Samsung Smart Things and I think that's what triggered it. If anything, it proves that wifi is built into the hardware. There's just no way to use it in the firmware/software.

My M7 just notified me that wifi networks are available and detected mine. It seems the M7 has wifi built into the hardware, it's just been disabled. Weird.

Folder browsing is still a pain. The folders are never organized in the correct order. As someone who prefers to use folders instead of the media library, this tends to be somewhat annoying. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future update, as I think this is the only serious flaw still left.
