New TOL A&K DAP : the AK Ultima SP1000
Has anyone tried pairing the sp1000 with a bluetooth earphone? I normally listen to it through a balanced cable, but today a coworker wanted to try the player, and I tried to pair it with 2 different bluetooth earphones but couldn't find any. Instead, I found a few devices with weird code names...- LCeh

So I guess it's time for a bit of impression on the billow 8-wire. I am not too articulate in describing sound, but I will try to go into detail of the journey and hope that gives you guys where I am coming from. On a sidenote, I think It's a slight shame that Beat Audio cables don't have much...- LCeh

I have actually liked Brimar's cables quite a lot. They are actually based in Hk so I actually went to their shop to audition. I tried their reference supreme 4 wire and was quite good. I find their sound signature and billow to be a little similar, but it's harder to find a second hand brimar cable.- LCeh

Thanks. I am just a little surprised it's not talked about more often here, as I find it to be a special cable, especially its mids.- LCeh

I tried it a couple times and I didn't experience much problem with flexibility or microphonics.- LCeh

The UI is pretty much the same as sp1000, maybe you can find a video of sp1000.- LCeh

Incoming Astell & Kern New: A&futura and A&norma
Like you said it's hard to say. If you don't do a direct side by side comparison, I guess the biggest difference is the presentation of sound. SE100 sounds more up front, bass is slightly more aggresive, everything sounds a bit closer.- LCeh

Incoming Astell & Kern New: A&futura and A&norma
So I finally got a chance to audition the SE100 and do some A/B comparison with my SP1000 SS, here are sone impressions: First thing you will notice is that the SE100 is A LOT lighter than the SP1000 due to the different chassis material, so if weight was a concern for you with SP1000, this...- LCeh

That's odd, there should at least be some indication. Not even a blue or red dot? If there is, the blue is left, red is right- LCeh

I visited their shop in HK a few weeks ago too. What was the main issue with them when you visited? I read all these non-responding experience on the forum and it scares me a little, but the fact I can visit their physical store made me feel a bit better. But I want to know your experience with...- LCeh
