Show us your Head-Fi station at it's current state. No old pictures please...

I've been absent from Head-Fi for a bit, but when I want to catchup, this is usually the thread that starts my journey. Great to see the new gear on display! On my head-fi table, my cheap solid state amp died (and good riddance, as it sounded bad), so I ordered a Bryston BHA-1. Man, I wish I...

I have come full circle. Starting out with iTunes in 2001, I've probably used just about everything along the way: Napster, Rhapsody, JRiver, UPnP/DLNA servers (e.g. Twonky, MinimServer), Bluesound and Sonos (still use the hardware), ending up at Roon. I've ditched everything except Apple Music...

I had the same problem, as I keep buying more gear (tape decks, sacd spinner, turn table, et al. ) I finally just bought a table from IKEA to hold it all. Your solution looks nice; mine looks like a customer service work bench.

Haven't posted for a while. My work setup, using 'legacy' gear: Bluesound Node 2i (audio files on company NAS :L3000:), connected with Kimber D-60 coax Rega DAC v1, connected with Kimber PBJ Woo WA3 (w/ Western Electric 421a Power Tube, Telefunken E188CC drivers) Sennheiser HD-660S 'phones.

I've had my WA3 for a long time (8 years?), collected a Schitt-ton of tubes for it, decided to upgrade to a WA2 this summer and re-use my tube collection (it's in my profile). I am a Sennheiser fanboy, so take my recommendation with a grain of salt: With the HD-650, the WA2 really sounds...

That much is true. But I haven't seen any 5998s that look like my WE 421As, which I purchased years ago from a Western Bell employee's estate sale in Wisconsin, in their original boxes. For sure, there are some 421As that are simply rebranded TS 5998... but that is not always the case. And...

Looks like it's that time of year again: :L3000: To cut to the chase on the low-cost end for the drivers I strongly recommend these: https://www.tubedepot.com/products/telefunken-black-diamond-e88cc-6922 They sound fantastic, have great clarity and imaging ... almost holographic compared to...

I have three of these and, yes, they are great tubes.

    ARRIVED: new Rega DAC

Yes! I also have the original Rega DAC. I agree: sounds warm-ish and almost analog (which probably means distortion, but I don't care). I am using mine in a 2-channel system with a budget streamer for Spotify Connect playback.

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

What do you think of the difference in sound stage between the two (Clear and 660S)? I agree that the 660S are a better set of 'phones than the 650, from a detail viewpoint. But both the 650 and the 660S have a "3-blob" character, with respect to sound stage. I am looking for my go-to cans for...

I have mine powering a set of Magnepan .7 speakers in a near-field setup. Pure heaven.

I have the same NAD amp ... a giant killer, IMO.

I have an HD-650 already ... I've spent more that the "difference" on tubes. I am not a fan of the HD-650s with classical music, but love them with many other genres.

I am looking for a great set of classical music 'phones to go with my new WA2. I am split between the HD-800S and the T1.2. Looking forward to hearing your impressions with the T1 ... I've read great things about those cans on head-fi.
