Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

My perception was that it was maybe mildly lower, but largely insubstantial for me compared to v60.

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

@Audeze Updated my Maxwell to v1.0.1.60 and noticed a significant tuning change (a much darker sound profile) for the Audeze preset. Was this intentional? I also noticed a volume level change—on v.1.0.1.56, I would normally reach comfortable listening in the 40% range (Windows) but now I'm...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

@Audeze Wanted to provide some feedback on an interesting phenomenon I have observed with the DSP for the integrated microphone on the Maxwell. And thankfully I have proof and steps to repeat it. Detach the boom microphone from Maxwell. Power down Maxwell (this resets the microphone DSP). Power...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

I'm pretty irked that I ordered from headphones.com on Dec 13th and Audeze still hasn't shipped Xbox units to them. It's been 4 months since I put my order in, and I won't be surprised if I don't receive anything until May or June at this point. I've remained quiet and patient, but this has...

If someone thinks the INZONE H9 sounds better than the Audeze Penrose, then their preferences definitely do not align with mine. I got a review sample last year when they dropped, and the INZONE H9 is more focused on ANC than sound quality. Don't get me wrong, for gaming purposes, the INZONE H9...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

I haven't heard the AirPods Max, but I will say that my experience of the Mobius and Penrose have both been very positive in terms of sound. The Audeze house sound seems to be changing in recent times, so Maxwell may change things up more, but the sound signature of Mobius and Penrose has been...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

This is sort of the problem with trying to create scores for things. Some things can be objectively measured, but a score is going to be based on some sort of adherence to a subjective target. In a hobby like this where subjectivity is much more important at the end of the day, you have to take...

Sankar has mentioned in an interview that ANC is something they're looking into, but they want to make sure they get it right. So probably no time soon, but if it is a feasible product and does come to market, could be a real game changer. :relaxed:

It's challenging enough to introduce as many features as the Maxwell is supposed to have without introducing a large amount of physical controls (which can also be overwhelming), so I understand the pragmatic approach here. I'll wait to have it in my hands before making early judgment.

Understood, I wanted confirmation that there is no explicit action that the user can take to return to the previous menu. It is done for you passively after an idle time.

Let me rephrase—once I have identified my desired preset, how do I leave that menu so that I may use the wheel to adjust my volume level again?

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Question in regards to the controls. When you have identified which EQ you want, can you single/double-press the volume wheel again to confirm? Or do you have to passively wait for it to time out in order to persist your selection?

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Admittedly I'm coming from using a Dan Clark Audio Expanse being my daily driver...so I'm pretty privileged in terms of sound, but I've also used the Razer Barracuda Pro, Sony INZONE H9 and SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless in addition to the Penrose & Mobius. I'm interested to see what...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Let’s change the subject to something more productive. What headset/headphone are you using right now, and outside of sound, what’s the primary feature you’re looking forward to most on the Maxwell?

Those are footnotes. Please consult the compatibility list where it clearly indicates that PlayStation features are only available on the PlayStation version of the headset and Xbox features are only available on the Xbox version of the headset. All the other platforms on the list are supported...
