    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

This is my 2nd time owing the SE846s. When I decided to get a pair of IEMs again, I tested the Campfires cuz they were all the hype back then. Without going into technical details and comparison, I ended up with the SE846s. For me, the Campfires just didn't move me. I didn't feel alive...

Lol. When you go to a concert or any live performance, how much upper treble do you actually hear? Answer that question for yourself then you might understand why people enjoy and prefer the "Shure" signature sound over others. Also, for band monitoring, I and IMO, many others, will take SE846...

Respectfully disagree. As a 2nd time owner of SE846, IMO and IME, for the same money or a little more, there are different choices but not "better" choices. Before buying SE846 the 2nd time, I tried out Andros but they didn't impress me. Yeah, the highs are better but that's about it...

Here's a short comparison based on my impression so far. Keep in mind I have the active 65t which should be the same driver as 65t, just higher waterproof rating of ipx56. Sound quality : 846/BT2 naturally wins without a doubt. BT2 also gives higher overall volume vs 65t. BT2 amp, IMO, is...

I personally don't like wire when I run and row. That's the main reason I bought my Jabra 65t and like it so much. Often I walk around the house and don't want to lug around my source, on top of my phone. When I am at my computer desk, it's either the big cans off the WA22 or 846 from Fiio X7...

For me, it's simple. I want the sound signature/quality of my SE846 but the convenience of wireless sometimes. Need? Heck no. Nobody needs a pair of SE846 either. :deadhorse: Btw, the amp is a tad of the warm side but not overwhelming.

My BT2 arrived this morning. Long story short, I now have a kick ass pair of Bluetooth IEMs. :L3000: After quite a few albums, I am pretty impressed with what I am hearing. The combo surely beats the crap out of my favorite Jabra Active 65t.

I went through pretty much the same comparisons (minus the Atlas, they were not out at the time) between Andro, and a few other TOTL IEMs vs. SE846 and ended up with the 846 again. Yes, you read that correctly. This is my 2nd time owning these great IEMs. First time was back in 2013-14. I...

For my ears and preference, foam tips + blue filters = too bassy. I have finally found a combo that works magic to the SE846 and that is Spinfit cp240-M + blue filters; much more balanced sound signature.

It is getting pretty warm. Thx to AC, my place is a consistent 76F. By no mean I would consider myself experienced HFier; still learning everyday. Btw, What DAC/Amp are you using for your 800s and SE846?

Gotcha. My apology... Also, please let us know when you find an IEM with the same soundstage and technicality as HD800s. Thx in advance.

    1. SE846 is not veiled. 2. Comparing an IEM to an open pair with the biggest soundstage such as the 800s is like saying "oranges are often way more sour and rounder than apples" 3. They each serve a different purpose unless you feel comfortable walking around in public with 800s strapped to...

Woo Audio WA22 Amp Owner Unite

"Great" sometimes could be subjective. I recently went to a Gumby Gen 5 for DAC and have been very satisfied with the purchase. The combo is very organic, analog...ish sounding. I have always run my WA22 with HD800. Couple times, I thought about selling HD800 and go for HD800S. However, I've...
