Just purchased the Sennheiser HD 598's, now I have ~$40 left for a pair of closed, bass heavy over ear cans. Recommendations?

Sony's old line of xb products are really good for bass.   http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR-XB200-MDRXB200-Blue-Extra-Headphones/dp/B00B9GD7E0

Anyone found their headphone nirvana yet?

I thought the Phillips Fidelio X1 would be a good match but to me it is lacking too much bass. The headphones are amazing for detail and everything else though

[Recommendation] Over the Ears Headphones Under $250

You should look into Phillips Fidelio X1, they are fairly warm and have an amazing amount of detail in them.

    Moving away from DT-990(250Ohms)

I moved away from an old DT-770 for the same reasons. I have the Phillips Fidelio X1 Headphones and they sound amazingly clear. You should look into them, I think they'd be good for Jazz, blues, etc.

I was eyeballing the DT 880 Pro's since I've heard review on numerous sites that the 880's sound better than the 990's for bass and clarity.
