Gapless fixed? Don't think so, just heard that clicking noise again. And the database still can't handle disc id (multi disc sets). Otherwise 3.22b looks and listens awesome so far. Keep up the great support, fiio!

Except in the iTunes-world, there's no such thing as a "gapless tag", at least regarding lossless formats. For mp3 you're sort of right, Lame is the encoder of choice, since it "patches" the last frame of a stream with an end-flag, instead of filling it up with zeroes. But Flac doesn't need such...

About the bug (for those who don't know already) - nothing to do with encoding (unless FLAC does encode "oddly"). Tried various levels from 0-8, no difference - I have no idea whether the bug appears with other formats and I personally don't care about mp3, ogg and the lot - this is a high res...

I know about CNY. The issue is well known since release of FW2.1 (released on 2013/11/20) - slightly before CNY, imho. Since then it hasn't been much of a topic while the FiiO officials continue to post news about X5 and X1. Call me "jealous" ;-) but if I wanted to introduce two new products...

Glad it turned out like this! But such shocks can have positive side-effects, as they remind us to take it slow. And to see that others have firmware bugs as well (those Chinese doctors of yours*) *) don't blame them, better save than sorry!

On one hand I can understand James: the X3 is a HIGH RES DAP, not an mp3 player. On the other hand: FiiO made a bad decision to fight a war on two fronts (i.e. debugging/improving the X3 and developing a new X5 DAP when the first isn't really ready). They don't seem to have enough capacity for...

It always shows 24Bit, no matter what, because the X3 internally uses 24 bit resolution. I suggested to Fiio they should just remove the bit-display (leave only sample rate) if they can't show the true incoming bit-depth, but they didn't listen...

The Momentums tend to be a bit harsh around 3.8kHz with some recordings. A -2dB dip would do it (it's really not that much!) but unfortunately X3 doesn't have a parametric eq. Personally I like to nudge the bass a bit up. It really depends a lot on the mix, which is a good omen regarding...
