FWIW, Lyr3/+ are not particularly tubey. Vali is a more classically tubey presentation in my opinion.

Still really enjoying it, haven't found myself missing the Jot 2 in this set-up (with VCs and Atrium) at all. Have actually mostly used the SS stage and like it possibly more than with the tube, which I did not anticipate.

Well my impressions were vs Jot 2. And it's been awhile since I've listened to my Asgard 3 but the Jot 2 was a big step up from that in clarity and sweetness as well. (Less warm.) Lyr+ SS is a step up from Jot 2.

The treble just has an airier/lighter quality. Maybe more shimmery? But without additional sparkle or anything. Lyr+ with the tube also has this it seems to me.

This one seems fine and pops in and out with no issues, other than the initial thing of the Lyr not detecting it, but I may not have seated it aggressively enough.

They sent with it a Tung Sol 6SN7. I also have a PSVANE and JJ that I've used with the Lyr 3 so I may do some swapperooning

Arrived! Super-duper early impressions. Looks awesome, I love the new chassis. The button-laden front is much cleaner-looking, in my opinion, than the flip switches of old. Took two tries for the Lyr+ to realize there was a tube plugged in -- it was initially defaulting to the SS gain stage...

I'm very excited for this one personally. I loved the Lyr 3 with the right source pairing. I love this chassis design and Schiit's latest amps have been phenomenal. The weird hybrid topology is perfect for my use case too as I'm stuck to a desk with headphones in for long stretches of time, and...

Well I don't think I could stand 10 tubes worth of heat dissipating into my wall-AC-unit apartment, but this makes me optimistic that a Valhalla 3 or Lyr 4 might have this interesting new hybrid tube/solid state buffer setup.

I'm assuming you'd up/sidegraded a Yggy to this? Out of curiosity have you considered making the Unison upgrade as well? It made a huuuuge difference with my Bifrost Multibit -- and I'm currently auditioning a LIM with Unison and man is it a hell of a DAC
