    The discovery thread!

Just as an addendum I would like to say that the SHE responds very well to my cheapo Fiio amplifier.  The bass especially gets a moderate cleanup and a nice boost.

    The discovery thread!

Got mine and opened them up today.   I had a few comments about packaging and materials and sound but all I really feel is worth saying at this moment is about those dang SHE3580s.    They are a true wonder.  The first thing I heard through them was halfway through a bassy Noisia track...

Question: Is it worth getting high end ear phones?

Quote: I would second this if you will be listening primarily through your ipod/iphone.

    The discovery thread!

Daaah I just bought both.  I read about 30 pages of this thread and kept going back and forth between the Tts and the Philips.  I ended up getting both because it seemed that the Thermaltake had slightly "more fun" and more refined sound than the Philips but the Philips sounded more neutral and...

    Get more Turbines?

Thank you for the suggestions.  They all look pretty good so I will have to read some reviews around here.   The Yamahas are weird lookin' things, huh? XD

    Gaming / travelling headset

While they are not at all travel headphones I am quite happy with my Turtle Beach X12 for gaming purposes.  The sound quality is solid enough for only $50 but they have, frankly, incredible bass.  There is a bass boost scroller on the DSP and even with it turned up all the way the bass remains...

Do you make fun of other peoples gear?

I only make fun of people bragging about their skullcandys.  My suitemate was and I told him to get some JVC Marshmallows, which are about the same price. He thanked me immediately after.  I wouldn't say I inwardly make fun of people, but it makes me sad when people listen to stock ipod headphones.

    Need help - budget $1700

I feel like for 1700 you should instead get a pair of Great IEMs and some Great over ears in addition to a nice amp.

Fischer DBA-02 MKII - Impressions and review thread: CK10 threatened!

Definitely waiting for everyone's review here.  I'm considering some DBA-02s.

    Get more Turbines?

I have probably the smallest and cheapest available amp on the market: the FiiO E5.   While it is entirely true that Turbines are bass oriented they also have surprisingly clear and balanced mids.  I think you are right, buffalowings, and warm/sweet is exactly what I want.

    Get more Turbines?

My turbines recently broke (right bud stopped working) and I bought them from an independent seller on Amazon so the warranty does not apply.  The day before they died the right bud sounded faint, but I thought it was just a problem with my ear, as I've had trouble with my right ear like that...

Grado GR10: Blissful Harmonics (Final Review Added)

Quote: As a requirement?  I doubt I could ever get my hands on some EQ5s to try out (in the US) but am looking for some higher tier IEMs at the moment..    You and goodvibes have been at odds about the G** and the EQ* for a few pages now but it seems that you have come to the...

Is anyone here a teenager that once believed that Beats and Bose were the best headphones on earth?

I used to think Bose must be great but I caught on to Beats' game immediately.  Huge celebrity endorsements just always seemed fishy to me.  Ironically enough after thorough research I ended up on a different Monster product: Turbines.  But when looking for over-ears I was lead away from Bose...
