Moondrop VENUS, PARA (hybrid default pads and EP-100A pads) and COSMO (re-equipped with the PARA's hybrid pads) Discussion.

The friend of the OP ranks the HD560S as "better than the HD600", and the Sundara as "as good as the HD800S". I stopped reading there. PS: I own a Sundara and a HD600, among other cans.

Just so everybody knows, dakanao has been on my ignore list for a couple of years, so I'm not interacting with him anymore. Plus his post doesn't even make any sense anyway. In my post I was only talking about bass impact (not bass depth). IMHO the HD 600 and the Sundara both lack bass impact...

Really? The HD 600's frequency response is well known since 1997, lol. Even EQed you will lack bass. Check this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dm0m6u3s3b4zqzl/Sennheiser%20HD600.pdf?dl=0 HD 600 are all about their magical midrange, but bass will never be their forte. They are absolutely great, if...

Well, I have a HD 600, and a Sundara (plus my hawks of course). If bass impact is important for you, then don't get any of them. The HD 600 is great. I love it, it my be my favorite headphone. But it lacks bass out of the box, and even EQed it's far from the hawks. The Sundara is a planar, it...

Of course I assume that you've EQed both to the same target curve, using Oratory presets, and not by yourself. Even so, the owls remain closed so that may be the issue. The hawks are more closed than they are open, that's for sure. If you want to go really open and radically different, then try...

Ever thought about EQing your owls? You would find them much more engaging that you'd think, and they could even become the "better" headphone. IMHO the hawks are way too close to the owls to justify having both of them. They're almost identical, except for the closed vs. semi-closed thing. That...

Don't look for Nighthawk-specific pads. Follow this guide and have any size-fitting pads work on your hawks: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/audioquest-nighthawk-impressions-and-discussion-thread.749762/page-107#post-12209435 Ideal pad size is 105x85mm, but 110x90mm fit too and are easier to...

I think that is merely because: Rankings are very subjective crinacle's ranking, like many other rankings, compares un-EQed headphones. So, apples and oranges. That's pointless. I mean, comparing un-EQed headphones isn't about "is this headphone great" but about "do I personally like its...

[New EQ Software] Mega Switcher for Equalizer APO, with 15.000 EQ presets

I finally found the time to push version 1.3 out. :) To be honest I could have done it months ago, but I was lazy since version 1.23 works well for most people. :p On the bright side, I've been using it myself for months, so I can confirm that it works great and I don't see much improvements...

[New EQ Software] Mega Switcher for Equalizer APO, with 15.000 EQ presets

I'm glad you like it :) Which reminds me that I need to release a new version with a couple of new features and some minor corrections (nothing really important). I'm a bit under the weather right now, but I will do it ASAP. Mega Switcher acts as a GUI for Equalizer APO, which is a Windows...

Man, you could easily write a PM to @brux instead of thread-jacking this topic. Thank you. ;)

    so I have a USB-C DAC, can I use USBC-to-USBA adapter?

Late but short reply : YES. While you're in the digital domain, you can use any kind of adapter (not converter) without degrading the signal. And for audio purposes, any USB port has more than enough bandwidth, so USB-C is not required at all.
