NEW HiBy R4
I am indeed and I don't listen without DSP : )) (and of course such DSP is totally doable without much faffing around on the R Android series) So to get a comparison impression of IEMs that roughly corresponds with what others are hearing, I need to obtain / create BRIRs that are tonally...- Joe Bloggs

NEW HiBy R4
Sound quality is not (only) about what you get plugging your headphones into the unit out of the box. The R4 is a full-fledged member of the R Android family and as such enjoys use of the full formidable suite of audio adjustment / enhancement utilities / plugins available to the R Android...- Joe Bloggs

Hiby FC6 - another R-2R USB dongle
as far as I remember, back when I was troubleshooting the device last year and created the Darwin V2 filters to eventually be put on this unit, I did find differences / improvements with HDR on in NOS mode, too. As I say, this is a rabbit hole 🥲- Joe Bloggs

Hiby FC6 - another R-2R USB dongle
Sorry for the late reply. I'd run into a rabbit hole with this enquiry and forgot to come back out 😳 But to be brief, the HDR switch is not supposed to make a difference, when the device is set to NOS.- Joe Bloggs

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
Hi, I just tested this, there's actually not much to it, it's the custom parametric EQ, you can have shelf filters and up to 10 bands of anything even. You just have to edit the file so that the frequency numbers are whole numbers not decimals. I'll see about updating support for this in the...- Joe Bloggs

Go into Settings and tap Error Report then tap back out. Look for a file called hibysdk.log in the root folder of your R4 and send to me via direct message. Thanks.- Joe Bloggs

NEW HiBy R4
Hi, did it get stuck on song no. 80 or is it just crawling along one song every few seconds? I suspect the former, in which case there's a song with what HiByMusic would consider to be corrupt metadata in a way that it can't recover from. There would be an error log of the scanning process you...- Joe Bloggs

HiBy R8 II - HiBy's New High-End DAP
If we bring facts (you know, those aliens that eat audiophiles for breakfast) into this discussion, let it be known as "fact" that none of these DAPs measure more than a 0.001% of anything apart from each other and nobody should credibly be able to hear a whit's difference between them...- Joe Bloggs

the word was that the original films were made in lockstep with actual R8ii units with no spares. But that may be changing soon.- Joe Bloggs

R5, a new Android DAP by Hiby
Unfortunately, might not blow up your R5 but it wouldn't sound right. You'd be shorting L- and R- to a common pole.- Joe Bloggs

If you mean more soundstage width, it could be with the Sound Field plugin which would counteract any unintentional crossfeed (esp. on the SE output) and replace it with *negative crossfeed* at high settings (L becomes more correlated with the *opposite* of R and vice versa) If you mean more...- Joe Bloggs
