I have a Holo Audio Cyan2 DAC fed from this streamer A6, sounds great. I don't think the A6 ME edition has an I2S output, only the A8 has. As regards HQPlayer, I think you will need a device which has NAA functionality to act as an interface to your DAC, this is not listed for the A6 or A6ME.

On the A8 this is correct, not so on the A6. Ifvyou check digital outs on the A6 and enable some DSP, you will not see any change in sample rate.

There is a volume balance option now on the A6 and I assume also on the A8. Upsampling on the A6 is possible up to 192 kHz PCM, you need to turn the Eversolo original sample feature OFF to get this to work.

Yes on the A6 the DSP EQ functions apply to any of the outputs be they digital or analog, in contrast to the A8 where as you say they can only be heard via the analog outputs.

Tried that out for you, works no problem. Pontus II lights correspond to ET3 SRC settings exactly for both PCM and DSD. Also listened to a track to be certain, sounds just great. So a standard HDMI cable that I previously used for a 4K bluray player connection and purchased from Amazon UK works...
