Whoa, easy there pal. Why would you presuppose that I don't know how to use a multimeter to check if the driver is faulty? That is precisely what I did, and the driver has failed, as far as I can tell. I'm not getting any continuity across the driver. I checked the socket - good. Checked the...- Jazzkammer

Does anyone know what I can check with my multimeter to diagnose one of the drivers not putting out any sound? It happened abruptly. All the soldering connections look secure, but I was wondering if I can measure with mV, ohms, or mA to see exactly where the failure is on the driver.- Jazzkammer

Winnipeg meets' thread (Ongoing)
Hey sorry to drop in on the thread, but is there a meet going on this weekend? I'm in town with my wife and I didn't bring any of my headphones with me but it would be nice to join. I'm from Edmonton!- Jazzkammer

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
I'm trying to pull of the stock earpads to try my Brainwavz HM5 pads on them, but the stock pads feel like they are going to tear when I try to pull them out. What's the trick here? How do I unhook the earpads from these pins/hooks that I can't even see or feel?- Jazzkammer

AKG K812 Pro
I'm on the lookout for used HD800 in Canada, but there are none for sale right now. There are, however, used K812 for $799 CAD, or $605 USD. This seems like a great deal, but I am worried that the K812 won't excel with classical music like the HD800 do. I have other cans for other styles of...- Jazzkammer

Can anyone speak to how the Ananda does with classical music? I'm looking for micro-detail, soundstage, and instrument separation, akin to HD800 but I'm hoping the Ananda has a more balanced sonic signature than the HD800 (no low-end).- Jazzkammer

Edmonton Winter Meet Nov 17th 2018 @ U of A - EHE
The evening of the 17th, my wife and I are going out for her 40th birthday, but I will try to show up for a while in the early afternoon. Unfortunately, I don't have much to bring to the table - I sold all my audiophile-grade headphones and amp when we bought our house last year, switching to...- Jazzkammer

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
In case anyone is interested, my warrantied Trinity PM4 just arrived back to me today. I didn't acquire the LZ-A4 until after I had sent away the broken PM4, so my previous posted comparisons to it in this thread were based on memory. In sum, I would retract most of what I said in my...- Jazzkammer

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Are you making the case for leaving sexist, or otherwise inappropriate posts stay up on the forums, while insisting the people who have an issue with inappropriate posts resort to private messages? There is an undeniable trend of sexism in audiophile - it's not egregious, it's not super...- Jazzkammer

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Amen. I am really glad I bought the A4. Such value in the head-fi world is something to be cherished. Sometimes these days I don't even know what is what anymore. Case in point, when Campfire Audio first came out, I balked at their high prices (in keeping with ALO Audio's similarly high...- Jazzkammer

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
Thanks everyone for the feedback to my comparison! Please take my PM4 comparison with a grain of salt: I don't even have them anymore, and I only had them for a month or less before they broke. So I haven't compared them side by side to A4, just by memory. Given such fierce criticism of the...- Jazzkammer

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
I've had the A4's for a few days now, and I will give my own comparison to the other IEMs currently in my possession, preceded by a bit of backstory of why I bought the A4 in the first place. I have had my 1964 V6 for several years, but I always found Balanced Armatures to have unconvincing...- Jazzkammer

LZ-A4 Impressions and Discussion Thread
I have been following this thread pretty closely. After one of my Trinity Audio PM4 earpieces failed (sent back to UK for repairs), I have decided to try another tuneable hybrid IEM. FLC8S are a bit more than I want to spend right now, so I have my sights set on the LZ A4, which looks like it...- Jazzkammer
