Sonicweld/Cryo-Parts Diverter 96/24 USB to SPDIF Review
No problem Joe, thanks. Glad to hear the new sample rate appears on the display - that means the detection mechanism is active and functioning and that both microcontrollers are OK. One more troubleshooting step: does the DAC you have this connected to also indicate the incoming sample rate...- JayDee

Sonicweld/Cryo-Parts Diverter 96/24 USB to SPDIF Review
At this point, I wouldn't suggest the cable is the culprit; I only asked about that to remove any suspicions about the rest of the system. With the Diverter, the timebase is changed when you switch from 44.1, 88.2, or 176.4kHz to 48, 96, or 192kHz rates. It sounds to me like the oscillator...- JayDee

Sonicweld/Cryo-Parts Diverter 96/24 USB to SPDIF Review
Wow, this thread brings back memories! Which model of Diverter are you testing? There were basically three; the original 24/96 model which has no display, and the HR and HR2 which have a small LED dot matrix display. I've never experienced anything like what you've described, nor has that...- JayDee

Some People Are Destined To Sing
Hi Mike - I just discovered your Fatou videos today, and wanted to convey my thanks for bringing this wonderful feeling into my morning! I listened to these as I worked and was greatly moved. I wish her album wasn't so expensive on Amazon, but it was worth every penny.- JayDee

Sonicweld Diverter: comments about the design, from the designer
Hey KillaByte (cool name!)... Sorry I haven't been on here in a while, and didn't see your post until today. I appreciate the points you made, and agree wholeheartedly. Yes, I've been aware of the XMOS offering for a while, and it looks interesting. Let us all hope that standard USB audio...- JayDee

Hi Steve. I'm curious - where are you going with this post? In other words, are you really interested in discussing the concepts with me (some of which could have been easily researched, such as the practice of data whitening or what a data slicer is), or are you throwing down some sort of gauntlet?- JayDee

FYI to people attending meets - we now have a dedicated demo unit that will be traveling around the country in order to give people an opportunity to try out the Diverter. If you have a show you'd like the demo Diverter to be available for, schedule it with Lee from CryoParts for a west-coast...- JayDee
