WRT that RCA being different, probably differing plate voltages doing the weirdness. The 6SN7 wants more voltage than Vali can give it. But get an adapter and try Lyr 3 with 2 6J5s. That way or with an early Foton or 7N7 Frankie are my faves in that. (TY to a friend for the last two tubes!) but...

So what do you think of your Vali 3? Edit: saw your more recent post. So with Lyr3, I have far more difficulty telling the difference between tubes than with Vali 3. There are definite differences with this little guy.

Agree. For that, one Loki or another… Tubes are ‘generally’ warmer, but no tube will totally fix shrill.

Low impedance doesn’t necessarily mean easy to drive… Planars want current… I have Lyr 3 and it drives anything with ease. vali works great on most things, but I’m not fond of it with 300 ohm Sennys. With that said, which low-impedance cans are we talking about?

Were I you, I’d see how the stock tube runs, and if that doesn’t do it for you, don’t spend a ton, but grab a GE 5670 and see if that sorts you. But a Loki will tame those highs with no problem… …and it looks like we’re all on the same page. Your ears, though. Let us know!
