Are there pricing announced for the AK100II and AK120II yet?  Curious to see how they will be priced and if the current AK100 MKII nad AK120 will continue to be sold or discontinued.

Thanks for the perspective. The DX90 sounds very tempting and I do have the AK120 and enjoy it quite a bit with the SE846. Not sure if I would sell the AK120 for the DX90 but definitely makes me really curious to try and find one to sample to see if the SQ is worth the trade off of bigger...

It looks like the AK100II and AK120II will only have 1 sd slot from the photos?  I wonder why they decreased the number of sd cards it can support compared with the previous AK100 and AK120, seems like a weird product decision.  Wonder if that's the final design or pre-production.

Yes absolutely agree that getting an off the shelf screen to reduce cost is the way to go. Just prefer a smaller but usable size to keep overall size of the dap smaller. At the end of the day the key thing I am using the screen for is searching, displaying album and play lists and occasionally...

I will have to take a closer look at the filter when I get home. I always assumed it was the shape of the filter that's altering the sound. I pretty much switched to the white filter when I first got the 846 but just switched back to the blue and quite liking it.

  I have not heard the UE900, but agree with Solude above that the sound signature of the Shure and Westone are quite different.  From the description of your preference I think that the SE846 sounds like it will be a better fit, but you should definitely test them if you can before deciding...
