Bowers & Wilkins Px7 s2 in Blue Impressions
They have to be 'on' for them to work at all. I've not let the battery run down that far, so I can't say if they work with a dead battery. However, I'm pretty sure they charge while listening. Regarding passive isolation, it would probably be ok. I guess it would depend on how loud you like...- iamkornholio

Bowers & Wilkins Px7 s2 in Blue Impressions
I just received the Silver S2's. Am enjoying them more than Sennheiser Momentum 3 & VModa CF2's. ANC is better than SM3's but not as good as my Sony XM3's. I only use the XM3 when ANC is a priority...was never too impressed with their sound. But the S2s sound great (never tried original...- iamkornholio

Sony WF-1000XM4 Impressions Thread
THIS! Anyone else having issues with connection when removing them from case & very loud white noise? More often than not, both buds will not connect on first try. At least 1/2 of the time when connection fails, I'll get white noise from one bud or the other, but never both at same time...- iamkornholio

V-MODA Unveils M-200 ANC, Its First Bluetooth Active Noise Cancelling Headphone
Yes, very similar. Hate the buttons as they are mushy with no satisfying click when pressed.- iamkornholio

V-MODA Unveils M-200 ANC, Its First Bluetooth Active Noise Cancelling Headphone
I may be returning mine as well... 1. when I first put them on, my first thought was 'I need to shorten the headband'...but I found they were already fully collapsed. I have a large head, having to expand the CFW2 several clicks for the earpads to sit right. With these, I felt that they were...- iamkornholio

Thanks to all for posting initial thoughts. For those that have received already, any of you order from Amazon? Or VModa? Mine (from Amazon) still haven’t shipped but a delivery date of Saturday...that date is from January pre-order. Have shown out of stock for weeks though.- iamkornholio

How are the ear cups compared to the CFW2? Are they sized like what ships with the CFW series? Or are they closer to the XL versions?- iamkornholio

V-MODA Crossfade 2 Wireless - We Discuss It With Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
Re: Cold Weather Issues As I've read a number of posts regarding cold weather performance of the XM3s, but had not taken them outside, I did a simple test today, located in central Missouri - temp ~30F, win < 10mph. Was listening to song1 as I went outside. Before song1 was over, Siri had...- iamkornholio

V-MODA Crossfade 2 Wireless - We Discuss It With Val Kolton - Head-Fi TV
I've owned the CFW2 since they were released and have had no issues. From a hardware perspective, i think they durability is unmatched. However, I've also owned the Forza Metallo Wireless since they were released and I'm now on my 4th pair due to electronics issues.- iamkornholio

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
I listen to a lot of Papa Roach, Shinedown, etc. After dialing the bass BACK some, i think they sound great. EQ settings I use are posted earlier in the thread.- iamkornholio

SONY WH1000XM3 - better than QC35 in noise cancelling?
It is my understanding that in the XM2s, the headphones would shut off after 5 minutes without a source. With the XM3s, the DEFAULT is shutdown after 5 minutes, but you can disable this (within the app). So to answer the question, yes you can use ANC without a source.- iamkornholio
