    Knowledge Zenith (KZ) impressions thread

I bought an ED9, ATE and HDS1 in the last Aliexpress sales, and I've got to say the KZ shop there is fantastic. They ask if you need to correct your order before shipping, free shipping and it shipped unbelievably fast (especially compared to most free shippings in aliexpress).   They've...

Hey guys, can you recommend me some KZ IEMs to try different sound signatures? I'm currently using a Piston 3 and a Shure SE112 most of the time, and they sound very similar to me. I enjoy they SE112 a bit more but it also gets me tired faster. I couldn't get the Pistons to fit right, so they...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

Do you guys straighten your cables out before sleeving? I'm making a 3m long aux cable, and slowly straightening every single cable looks like a pain, do you guys have a way to do this faster? Or should I just sleeve them like that?

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

Yes, you only really need 3 wires.   You need to use a multimeter to test for continuity, many even include a buzzer to make testing simpler. Continuity test just what it names implies, continuity between two points. If you for example test continuity on two extremes of a short wire, it...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

      1) Yes, the shielding is generally tied together and used for ground.   2) Most people here use quad microphone cable, and they use a redundant wire for ground. You could have as many wires as you want per channel/ground, but given the plug's connector size for tip and ring is hard to use...

For me using a flush cutter worked best.

I definitely thought it would be thicker, but it´s actually quite thin. I used 24 AWG and after figuring out the correct way to cut the tip of the cable, it was a pretty smooth sleeving experience so you can probably go thinner. I do wonder if it won´t get stuck too much on a type 1. Here's a...

DIY Cable Questions and Comments Thread

I just finished making my first pair of headphone cables ever, it took me quite some time but it was fun. I used 2.5m of Redco TGS-QD cable, it was really easy to strip. I removed all the cables and tried to straighten them up a bit. For sleeving I used Scarlet Red 275 Paracord, and this was...

Sorry if it's the wrong place to post this, but I wrote it in the Chinese Info Thread and got ignored :( . Hopefully someone can help me chose, or at least give me a brief rundown of what genre each IEM caters to.

Chinese / Asian Brand Info Thread (Headphones, IEMs, Amps, DACs)

I'm looking for some advice. I bought some IEM to gift my siblings. I bought 1 kz ate, 1 kz ed9 and 2 pistons 3. I'm looking for recommendations of what pair should i give them. Both of my sisters listen to a lot of boy/girl bands and all the mainstream pop singers. The older of them has a...

xDuoo X2 - small lossless player with microSD and OLED!

Currently it seems to be selling between $65-$75 (after conversion), but I've read that it's supposed to cost $55. There is also the fact that is a new and untested product, but Fiio has a good track record. Some reviews should be popping up next week.
