Honestly my bass expectations were just near Elear level, based on how they look, the price, and the name sharing the same beginning letters. Complete assumptions on my part, glad I tried them though. Your experience with the Atticus mirrors mine with the Elegia.

Everything I listen to consists mainly of, if not only bass :p, so the problem may lie with me. Or you just got the Headfi variant, while I got the Brett Butterworth Edition lol.

The Elegia's bass sounded very similar to the 6XX's in terms of quantity imo, just less airy. I perceived the slightest bit deeper extension, but I think that may just be an effect of closed vs open.

I don't think this is a closed Elear, despite its price and looks. These have much less bass than my Elears, too little personally. Mids are clearer, makes vocals on my Elear sound kinda muffled in comparison. But the bass on the Elegias might be the dealbreaker for me. Seems like it's in...

Mine are modded Denon D2000's. I have Fostex TH-X00 Ebony's on the way for this very reason: D2000's won't last forever. And I'll probably get the rest of the TH-X00 line to keep as backup lol.
