Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
You're right about the file sizes, they're just too big. Have you tried playing them using another app?- HenjieT

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
Could be the source files. There are a lot of "DSD" files floating around that are actually just converted MP3s. Although to be quite honest, I don't think I'd be able to distinguish a DSD file from a 24-bit/48kHz FLAC file in a blind listening test nowadays. The masters are quite important. I...- HenjieT

I also have mine set to 85% max but I've experienced it charging to 87% once, and 86% twice. It's just those three instances though. I always charge mine when it gets to 25-26%.- HenjieT

I play my DSD files natively with no issues. Using UAPP though.- HenjieT

Shanling H5 - Portable DAC/AMP/Player, AKM AK4493S DACs and sweet warm tuning
I have the HD58X, also 150 ohms like your HD660S. Using a 4.4mm cable and the H5 on medium gain is more than enough.- HenjieT

You're correct, the plastic tabs are the culprit. I took out the ones on the left a few hours ago and haven't had as much accidental presses since then. Not totally eliminated but way better than before. Still would be nice to have the option to completely disable specific buttons though. 🙂...- HenjieT

TPU cases do prevent accidental presses. I'm still debating whether I should go back to using one but I do prefer the feel of the official leather case. Just took out the small plastic tabs hiding under the case earlier. Fingers crossed it'll help with the issue.- HenjieT

They're still active when not in the lockscreen though. I want to turn them off completely, even when the screen is on. 😄- HenjieT

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
@Joe Bloggs as someone who's used to (and prefer) playing/pausing and changing tracks via the screen, I humbly ask you to perhaps suggest to the software team that having the option to completely disable the left side buttons might be a good idea. Thanks!- HenjieT

I guess the thinking with how they're grouped is that between the three, the most used will be the pause/play and next buttons, with the previous button a distant third (unless you like repeating tracks). I don't even use any of those. I have them disabled when the screen is locked to prevent...- HenjieT

If you're used to (and prefer) the Sony "house sound", I reckon you won't be happy with the R6 III unless you're ok with EQing. Re: MSEB and PEQ, I'm not against the idea of EQing to get the sound you're looking for. Heck, MSEB is actually a major draw for me, but more on the lines of "better...- HenjieT

For my needs, the battery life of either is adequate. I do most of my listening at home anyway, and rarely listen for more than 2 hours in one go. As for the sound, I find the R6 III too bright for my taste. To my ears, the R6 Pro II is warmer and smoother. Better lows, well-controlled highs...- HenjieT

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
The best I've been able to get with the R6 III was around 8:10, IIRC. This was after the initial battery calibration (draining the battery then charging to 100% + an hour more with the device turned off). Not quite 7 hours for the R6 Pro II (6:40ish) in the default "performance" CPU mode. The...- HenjieT

Hiby R6 Pro II (2023 Edition) - Launch, Hype, Thoughts & More
Had the R6 III, now using an R6 Pro II. At medium gain and 40-50+ volume using the 4.4mm output, the R6 III was draining its battery at around 10-12% per hour. R6 Pro II around 14% per hour. Wifi on, using UAPP and Apple Music. Tried switching to "normal" CPU setting vs. the default...- HenjieT
