The right amp for me! (Grado, Senn, Tube)
I said the Ear was my favorite amp with Grado's (have used SR325, HF1, PS500) and Senn (HD600, HD650). It is not the best with HD800, LCD-2 Rev2 (I am still looking for that beast). I do not know if it is better than the WA6SE since I have never heard that amp. I have heard early iterations...- GWN

The right amp for me! (Grado, Senn, Tube)
The Mad Ear+ HD (not the HD Super) meets all of your requirements exept that you find it ugly. Still my favorite amp with Grado's and Senn's. You can have it built with a Dact volume control installed, mine has a Noble Step in it. Small, compact design. Easy on the tubes. Proven design that has...- GWN

Mid Life Crisis
Enjoy your Z. I've owned three Nissan ZX's. A 1984 normally aspirated 300ZX, a 1986 300ZX turbo and my last and best a 1990 300 ZX twin-turbo. The twin turbo was an awesome car. I can only imagine what the 350 must be like. Midlife crisis is real. Worked the other way for me. I woke up...- GWN

Videos: How vinyl records are made
Thanks for posting this. It brought back memories. I was fortunate enough to visit the Decca record plant in my hometown when I was younger. My friend's dad was the production manager and he took us on a tour. I have been fascinated with vinyl ever since.- GWN

Speakers: Country of Origin = Type of Sound?
Those descriptions are kind of dated. Might have been true in the 70's. Each description might be attached to a specific speaker manufacturer in each country but would certainly not apply across the board. For example Bristish speakers from B&W and Mordaunt-Short are anything but warm and...- GWN

Microscope? Magnifier? What do you use?
I use a headband magnifier like the Optivisor shown at this site. Site used only for picture. I bought mine locally. http://nt.bnt.com/mhconline/shopfram...category%3D122 Works great with my glasses, keeps both hands free. Flips up out of the way when not soldering.- GWN
