iPhone 7 Will Revolutionize Portable Audio for the First Time in a Decade
Maybe you should read the actual source before repeating this nonsense. Wireless headphones have reached 50% of REVENUE, not unit sales. The unit sales are at 17%, which is very far from "overtaking" anything. Well duh, wireless is expensive. This argument is like predicting we will all be...- Goratrix

Earbuds (yes, not iems) with biggest soundstage, airy and balanced sound like k701?
Quote: Based on this, there is only one obvious answer: the MX 980. Yes, they are over your budget. But you won't find anything better, especially if you already love the MX 580. You could try something else, but in the end you'll end up with the MX 980 anyway- Goratrix

Apple to discontinue iPod Classic & iPod Shuffle??
Quote: what do you mean by "consumers have chosen"? for example, on Amazon, after 2 years, the Classic is still #3 and #5 in portable media players, *** it's even outselling the 64 GB Touch (probably by quite a large margin)!!! so yes, consumers have chosen, but Apple wants everyone to...- Goratrix

What are the best NON noise-canceling / NON isolating earbuds?
Sennheiser MX 980 (but try them on before you buy, they tend to be too large for some people's ears)- Goratrix

Sennheiser MX 980 Expression
Quote: Cable broken at the 3.5mm jack, the same issue that has been discussed and reported here multiple times by many people. 2 or 3 pairs of PK3 and 2 pairs of PK2. The Yuin cables are too fragile and the jack sorely lacks any strain relief.- Goratrix

Sennheiser MX 980 Expression
After 6 months of heavy everyday use, I'm loving them more and more. Well done, Sennheiser, this really is the ultimate earbud. Also, the durability is lightyears ahead of what Yuin could produce. All of my PKs crapped out after a few months, while the MX 980 is still like new.- Goratrix

opinion: any point to high end iems with mp3 music?
you should post the relevant samples together with the ABX logs on hydrogenaudio.org, I'm sure the developers would appreciate it. Quote:- Goratrix

Who can rewire my PK3s earphones?
Quote: You don't understand the issue here. Yuins have a crappy cable that breaks very easily regardless of the plug.- Goratrix

Big dissatisfaction of YUIN earbuds
yes, the dreaded yuin cable issue... happened to me a few times too. then I got fed up and went with with the Sennheiser MX980. it's really a shame, because the Yuin buds are fantastic, but the build quality of the cable is horrible.- Goratrix

Lossless files and stuff
Quote: Why not? The LAME mp3 presets are tested and finetuned constantly on very high-end equipment and are proven to be transparent for most people under normal circumstances. If you can ABX FLAC from LAME -V0, good for you, but 99.9% can't.- Goratrix

Reasonably cheap, durable earbuds?
I had the same problem with multiple pairs of PK3 and PK2. It was always the exact same problem, the cable broke internally at the point where it leaves the 3.5mm jack. I would suggest going with the new Sennheiser buds (MX580, MX880, MX980, depending on your budget). I have replaced the...- Goratrix

Yuin PK3s busted. Can I repair them?
Most likely the cable is broken internally at the point where it leaves the 3.5mm jack. This is a common flaw of the whole Yuin lineup. Happened to me on two pairs of PK3 and one pair of PK2. After that I got fed up with Yuin and bought the Sennheiser MX 980- Goratrix

Koss PortaPro vs SportaPro vs KSC75
Out of curiosity, what has been changed in the "current PortaPro"? Also, technically, the KSC/35 is still being sold (although only directly from koss.com), so you should include it It's still the best of the series.- Goratrix
