    Grado SR80 Impressions thread!

Hi,   Thanks for your help, anyway. I went for the SR80e. This was a tough choice, as the SR60e is very similar, with slightly more bass. However, the SR80e just sounded more "musical" in the mid frequencies and guitar sound was really enjoyable. I was swapping headphones like a madman, but...

    Grado SR80 Impressions thread!

Hello. In a couple of hours I will buy a Grado. I need to chose betweem the 80e and the 60e. Even though I will have the opportunity to briefly test them, this will be a short listening session, so I would like to hear your opinion. I mainly listen to thrash/black metal, like Inquisition...

    PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread

Unfortunately, I have to agree. My PX100 II has the same defect. The plug was faulty. Lasted less, than 6 month. Such a pity.

    PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread

I use my PC with Asus Xonar DG. Also, my Samsung S3. I can get the EQ settings to provide satisfactory sounds for metal. However, when I plug in my V-Jays, it just simply blows the Senn out of the water. The Vjays provide the hars, powerful guitar sound that are so important for metal, while the...

    PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread

Do they bring back the guitars? I kind of miss them... :)   I also noticed, that when I listen to podcasts at night, I have to use some EQ, to make it audible at low volume, as the speech frequencies are so muddy, I had to turn the volume on. Never had this problem with the V-Jays, or my...

    PX100-II Review | Discussion Thread

I just bought the PX-100II. I have to say, the V-Jays are MUCH better for rock/metal, anything that has distorted guitar in it. There is no EQ that can make up for the lack of clarity in the PX-100, when it comes to guitar heavy genres. When you put on the V-Jays, the guitar appears in the...

    Lets Talk Metal

"Sounds like a frog croaking to me." So crows screaming and shrieking is OK and is considered a standard in Black metal, but a frog croaking is weird...?   Immortal sounds very different to me. Inquisition's vocals is much more raw and is like chanting. Anyway, Inquisition does a lot more for...

    Lets Talk Metal

Perfectly complements the music in my opinion. Feels like you are involved ins some sort of ritual. I'm an oldschool metal guy, but the vocals never struck me as weird. Never even noticed, as it harmonizes with the music. I only read this opinion on forums, but never agreed with that. If...

    Lets Talk Metal

The Inquisition album is fantastic! There is so much depth to it, I simply can not stop listening to it. When you think you have heard all there is to be heard in this genre, along come these guys and just turn it upside down with every album. If you don't have it already: "into the infernal...

Headphones for Death/Black/Thrash metal - advice needed

Thanks, but this is above my price range. They are stating from 300 USD, which is more than what I'm looking to spend. Thanks anyway.

Headphones for Death/Black/Thrash metal - advice needed

Oh, and one more thing: the Takstar is a 60 Ohm can. Can I use it with my phone with no amplifier, or it would be too much?

Headphones for Death/Black/Thrash metal - advice needed

Thanks for the advice. I checked the Takstar and it seems to get good reviews. How does that measure up against the Superlux HD662? The Takstar costs 2x as much as the Superlux. Can I assume that the price difference is justified?
