Focal Elear - Impressions Thread
Silly question for you guys... i'm a noobie. Are the Elear considered low impedance? I had them set as Hi-Z with the Wa7 and the sound feels overwhelming and murky. When I set it to Lo-Z it sounds a lot more clear. Did I have it in the wrong setting? When I plug in the Elear into my Jptunheim...- frankietown

ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF
Just got my Eikon. I am in love. It pairs perfectly with my Jotunheim. My Elears are still perfect with my WA7 Fireflies. I am in music heaven.- frankietown

Thank you for your thoughts. That is what I was actually going for, having complimentary cans. And i'm excited with the thought that the Eikon has more soundstage even though it is closed.. man Feb can't come soon enough!- frankietown

I'm guessing you have heard the Eikon as well? I own the Elear.. I'm curious your thoughts on the differences between the two (Elear vs Eikon).- frankietown

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Really random question guys For the Jotunheim, even if it is off it says "Schiit USB Gen 2" in the play devices on Windows 10. I guess is that normal behavior? When I had the Modi2, when I turned it off, it went away. Thank you- frankietown

Schiit Jotunheim Review / Preview - Head-Fi TV
Forgive me for my noobie questions.. 1) If I want to use the 4-pin XLR output of the Jot, do I need to have a balanced DAC connected to it? 2) If I purchase the internal DAC, will I be able to use the XLR port just fine? 3) If i purchase a Bitfrost Multibit, I do have to connect it...- frankietown

Was at my local audio shop today. Spent 4 hours testing different headphones on the WA7. Went home, saw the 10% was still there. Cannot wait for them to come!- frankietown

Thanks. Definitely leaning towards the Elear then. Zach needs to open up a shop here in CA so I can demo his cans :D- frankietown

I ordered the Eikon Padauk. Do you think the HD800 or the Focal Elear would be a better complement for it? Trying to have one closed and one open headphone to have good coverage for most musical genres, watching movies, and playing video games.- frankietown

Noobie here who just started into the life of audio equipment. I've been using my k7xx with a magni 2 / modi 2 setup and I do love it. I went ahead and got the Eikon Paduak as my first big headphone purchase. I just had a few questions maybe someone can help with: 1) Will i need to upgrade...- frankietown
