O2 + ODAC sound driver hanging (Windows 8.1 64bit)
This is a desktop, so all power saving features have been disabled. It does not make sense that this would be a hardware problem though, because a quick restart to the computer fixes the issue (temporarily), while restarting the DAC doesn't solve the issue. I will try Safe Mode, and edit that...- FaceTheDream

O2 + ODAC sound driver hanging (Windows 8.1 64bit)
Alright, so sorry for the vagueness I've provided some info below: I have this issue with iTunes, Foobar2000, VLC, and Chrome. Any audio that was being outputted stops - the windows mixer will show the a consistent volume (https://imgur.com/a/tTbfS). To clarify the only enabled audio...- FaceTheDream

O2 + ODAC sound driver hanging (Windows 8.1 64bit)
Hey guys, I apolgize in advance if this is in the wrong section, if so can we please move it to the correct subsection. :) I recently purchased the O2+ODAC combo and it has been a huge step up, however I'm having issues with the audio. I'm plugged in from the usb on my Motherboard...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Okay guys thanks for all the help, here is what I've narrowed it down to: HD598 or K601 (whichever I can find locally) unless I can find a K501 for similar if not cheaper price. and for the amp the O2 is really tempting, especially for its $100 less than what the TubeMagic D1 would...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Quote: Out of curiosity why not get the one that JDS is offering with the product (its for another 10 dollars) is there a reason? I'm just curious and it doesn't seem to specify what inputs the O2 has. Thanks aswell :). FaceTheDream.- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
I have to agree with this. The iPod Touchs' 3.5mm jack is rated at 35ohm, there will be a loss indeed. But lejaz I know that there will be a difference its just a question in what will be lacking due to the loss of extra-amplification, that's what I'm curious in understanding...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Quote: Yeah I just took a look at the E17, it seems to be bundled with the E9, for the same price on headphonebar. But how would the E17/E9 combo compare to a TubeMagic? And you said it didn't need an amp, but what would I gain from an amp? Like would be a notable improvement or just...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Quote: So you say they need a good amp, and I know this belongs in another section, but what amps/dac would work well with the K601s like I've said before I have my eyes set on the TubeMagic D1 but would that be good for the K601? Or is something around the $200-250 CAD price range a...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Alright thanks for the clarification, I'm not a fan of a punchy bass, unless I'm listening to some electronic music which is really really rare. So does the Beyer DT990s not compare to those cans? And I was looking and the K601 seems to compare closer to the 701 & 501, perhaps with a...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Quote: Well see I I need a DAC anyways, something to make my music sound better when listening to it obviously the source needs to be better yes, but 3.5mm on board isn't going to cut it. So If I got the TubeMagic I think with the 598 it would suffice. How bass light are we...- FaceTheDream

Okay so I really hope I can find some K501s but it isn't looking pretty. Anyways How does the HD598 compare to the K550s? and does the K550 compare anywhere near the K501 that should probably be the first question. lol. FaceTheDream,- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Quote: NOO. lol a good pc soundcard is going to cost me the equivalent of an amp that can power these lol. So now the hunt for the 501s begins. Well actually the AD700s vs HD598 so which one would be better in terms of the soundstage and SC. and is the latter harder to power and...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Alright so here a question, persay I got the HD650s would it be absolutely necessary to have it driven by an amp? And for the K501 would the TubeMagic D1 be enough to power it, or would I need something more powerful? And if not what are examples of amps that would work nicely with it. I...- FaceTheDream

Best Orchestral Headphones (200-250CAD)
Hey Guys, I’ve been debating what headphones to buy, and I couldn’t find anything on the forum on this specific topic. I’m looking for headphones with a wide soundstage, preferably closed-back but they don’t have to be. I listen to LOTS of soundtrack/concert music, so it’s...- FaceTheDream
