I did the felt removal mod today on my HE-500's... OMG! What a difference in the soundstage. Combed with my Moon Audio Blue Dragon cable, I feel like I'm listening to a different pair of headphones.

Ah, that's good to know. I really like how the bass is with the HE-500 already, its really good but I know it can dig deeper. I'll probably order the cable sometime over the weekend. Do you think that it's better to just pay the extra money for the 10ft cable instead of the 5ft?

I also remember this DAC sounded very good when I was listening to vinyl rips, the music had a lot more weight to it and just sounded overall better than my current HRT Music Streamer II in some cases. It's just too bad the DAC didn't output enough volume like the HRT did.
