Same, just have a detachable cable. With the right amp, the highs are just fine on th900 imo. Running them on Audeze Deckard. Beautiful combo.

Any chance of adding the Sony MDR-Z7 to your review list? Supposedly an incredible closed back entry but would love to know how they match up to these other heavyweights.

The Audeze Deckard is a great pair. I posted my thoughts about it some pages back, and that convinced another reader to get it and he agreed it's a great match.

If you look on the TH-900 thread, I posted the same comment over there about how much I like this pairing, and someone decided to buy the Deckard based on that recommendation. They later posted feedback that I steered them in the right direction and they are loving it. So aside from myself...

Mute. They are not pass-thru type outputs. They also require the amp to be on and the volume knob will adjust the output level.

Whoa. That's a lot of pressure on me to be right! Lol. I'm sure you won't be disappointed, but will be curious to hear your thoughts and see how much you (hopefully) agree! I'm listening right now and can honestly say it's continued to improve as the amp and headphones break in over time...

They control it. They are not passive outputs. For them to work, the Deckard needs to be turned on and the volume knob will control the output.

I know there is a thread to discuss recommended amps for these, but thought I would mention it here as well that I've now paired my TH900's with the Audeze Deckard and wow! A synergy that is truly meant to be. I think the Deckard's slight warmth is a perfect compliment, and the low noise floor...

Agreed, in that mine gets warm but nothing of concern, I'd say. It's clear the design of the chassis is that it works as a heatsink, so pulling the heat to the surface is better than it sitting on the components, I say. :-) Also agree that it was a great review! I concur on all fronts, although...
