Thanks mordy for the kind words and the info. I like the idea of being able to plug the 6DTA tubes directly into the board with the EF92 setting.  I am going to play around with the strap settings while I am waiting for the external voltage components.

I received the Beyerdynamic velour pads from Sonic Electronix and the part numbers on the packaging is 9008363 and EDT 1350 N.  The pads are the same size (63mm) as the original pads. The soft surface of the velour feels more comfortable against my ears but I still needed to expand the headband...
