What happens when a $20 earphones beats all your other cans?
Sort of confirms my speculations that a pair of cans are as good as the $3.00 drivers or a $300 MontBlanc ballpoint pen is as good as its $10 refill !- EdT

High $ Cables For Senns - What's The Deal?
Once your cabling reaches 16AWG, there will be no difference whatsoever, most headphone manufacturers use small ass 26-28AWG which is a little too small, using 22AWG will give the best conditions. Koss KSC-75 1/4" plug
Best to recable. Most of the 1/8 to 1/4 adapters are cheaply made and become defective after a dozen inserts. I like to use 3 conductor 22AWG "rotor" cables as single sided headphone cables or RCA plug cables as split cables and terminate with a quality 1/4" plug. I can't believe I am recabling...- EdT

Recommendations for my situation....
You will find most here think noise cancelling is another silly gimmick that uses more battery and $30 is too low of a budget to find any at the retail level. Most high-end stuff is the straight dope stuff with a wire ! I would go with either one of these for your use and budget: Koss...- EdT
