thanks for the help! well in the end nothing really solved the problem. it got much much better after several times of applying contact cleaner. not only around (in the back) and inside the jack but also on the potentiometer. but still it was very unstable. interestengly after 20-25 minutes it...

Has anyone tried the su-ax7 with the hp-dx1000?  i'm thinking about getting this headphone amp and use it with my cd player (technics sl-ps670d). my main headphone is hp-dx1000. would you recommend it in an environment like that? 

Is it me or did the ones I tried in Tokyo sound different than the ones I tried in Europe (e.g. hi-end society fair munich)  The pair in tokyo had recessed trebles, was very thick and full-sounding. The pair in Munich had very piercing trebles.  I'm confused...

It looks kind of oxidised as far as I can look inside.  But still, it's just a guess... I cleaned it very thoroughly and dried it pretty good. And later applied couple of times more another contact cleaner. Seems to have gotten better for now. At least during listening sessions it doesn't...
