Hi, I wondered how you took the original knob off your Vali 3 to put on that great brass knob. Is it just a pull off type or hidden screw? I tried giving a tug on it but it didn’t come off and I didn’t want to break it off. Steve

Love the ships wheel for the volume knob! Unless it was modeled after the Lusitania, or the Titanic…………….bad luck you know.

I recently told a friend about my Vali 3 amp and my 12AU7 tube adapter ( I just ordered a 12AU7 tube, be here in about a week ). He hands me a Mullard E80CF and says try this it’s a substitute for the 12AU7. Now before I plug it in I thought I would ask before I burn something out is the E80CF...

I must say, OMG ………that’s the most outrageous thing I have seen in a long time! I mean, those two tubes look like they weigh more than the amp itself!!! Hope you have high ceilings in your house!

LobalWarming, thanks for the detailed answer to my question and this morning I tested them and found the EABC 80’s tested bad but the E80CF is good, ( found 5 more for a total of 6 all test good).

The Vali 3 does NOT topple those other amps you mention? Well it’s good enough for me. I don’t need to pay 2, 3 or more thousand bucks to get close to the sheer enjoyment I get from the Vali 3. (Gee, I’m starting to sound like a spokesperson for Schiit, but I assure you I’m not).

Good enough is NOT just good enough, if you get my meaning. You have to go for that little bit more! It’s what makes life interesting!

Lance is absolutely correct, at this price point the Vali 3 is the audio deal of the year. Too soon yet to say deal of the decade, we’ll see I suppose.

Karen Carpenter, I love her voice and still miss her! Also Radka Toneff, so different yet so sublime. Both died stupidly.
