There is Amixer app i think works from console, you could try that. Its basically console style mixer software. It allows to deal with mixer. If your plugin or whatever is working like standard volume adjuster - it should work.

And just to clarify, ALSA = linux sound system, similar to directsound on windows. It's main sound source on Linux from where Pulseaudio, Jack and other sound servers feed from. Bad ALSA = NO sound.

seek for "ALSA equal plugin" for your distribution. Its non GUI, but its intuitive enough.

Linux EQ That works with Dragonfly Red USB?

There are two possible situations with EQ on Linux. Either its part of DAC/driver or it's emulated in something like Pulseaudio or final app that uses output has built functionality.(mp3 player) I dont use Pulse audio much but check if there some kind of Pulse Audio EQ. But seriously check out...

A few questions about dac/amp, Shiit, linux knowledge appreciated but not necessary.

I don't really care about mic. i already have one 3.5mm one. And its cheap and its crap but people can hear me. I just want to have decent USB DAC that works on Linux with port for mic.

I am Linux ultra nerd. I have read this article before long time ago. Likely was reason why I got my Fulla Shiit 2. I know problem I have is hardware - same issue between different OS. And it comes and goes. Not only that but comes and goes same tame on different OS. Mic is checked on 2 other...

    AUDIOPHILE LINUX (AP Linux)

There is no such thing as asio/wasapi there. If you have reasonably supported DAC, likely quality will be just fine by default. Unless you will be doing some mixing/sound engineering. Which you can, but you will need to invest time to know linux sound sub system.

'does AP Linux play DSD natively or DoP, if at all?' - dunno. 'Also, can anybody tell me a way to listen to DSD without having to install an entire distro?' - install linux on big USB flash drive. 20 gig would prolly be big enough.
