Foobar wasapi 3.0(push) changes the headphones sound
Quote: I just went ahead and downloaded the new foobar. I didn't know what to do with the format either, I just ended up extracting the files with winrar and put them in the components folder.- dre2000

Foobar wasapi 3.0(push) changes the headphones sound
I just downloaded the new wasapi 3.0 and it changed the way the music is played through the headphones. The sound is much more spread out. I am using the push setting, the event setting sounds like the old wasapi. You guys should check it out.- dre2000

USB port affects the sound?
I see. The other front usb port does not have the same sound. I guess it is the chipset. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this. It really sounds like a different box depending on which port I use. The soundstage, mids and the bass all sound different. It doesn't sound as congested. Everything...- dre2000

USB port affects the sound?
I noticed with the burson 160d the music sounds a lot better when I plug it into the front usb port on my computer vs plugging it directly into the rear(motherboard). Also when I skip forward and backwards in foobar, it does not lag like it does when I use the other ports. The sound is change is...- dre2000

REVIEW (in progress) - Nuforce HDP 24/96 USB-Optical 24/192 Coax DAC Preamp and Headphone Amp
Quote: Having heard the hdp and dacmini, do you think that the $400 price difference is worth it? Do they sound a lot different? I'm interested in how the dacmini stacks up against the hdp using the d7000.- dre2000

Icon HDP + WASAPI (foobar) help!
I thought WASAPI would override my windows sample rate setting, but I notice a change in the soundstage of my d7000 when i go from 16 bit to 24 bit in the windows setting. I have both exclusive mode boxes checked (windows 7). I also have the output on foobar set to 24 bit. I currently have the...- dre2000

The Official Fiio E9 Thread with Video Unbox-Review
Quote: Thanks. I can actually adjust the volume using the e9 by plugging my A2 into the front of the E9. Is this double amping? If it is better this way, I won't use the preamp output.- dre2000

The Official Fiio E9 Thread with Video Unbox-Review
Quote: I have a 3.5mm to rca cable, I'm just confused on how to hook it up properly. The A2 has an option for rca or 3.5mm inputs. Are you saying to plug the speakers into the front of the e9?- dre2000

I have the E9 and the A2, but I can't control the volume with the E9 unless I use the preamp input. Anyone else have this setup?- dre2000

Denon AH-D7000
Quote: The E7/E9 combo is considered neutral, so its probably hard to find something to calm the treble and highs. I wonder how the nfb-12 pairs with the d7000.- dre2000
