Well the title says it all really

I'm looking for a set of headphones or earphones that have good bass, are not too expensive, are vaguely portable and block outside noise very effectively (for anyone who's never had to travel on the London Tube, it is pretty much the loudest travelling environment you will ever come across)...

To cut things short, I love my bass. However I've been looking for a set of noise cancelling headphones for travelling and commuting, and most seem to have a lack of bass. I was wondering if any reasonably priced (under £120) noise cancelling headphones had strong bass?

I was thinking of buying the Goldring NS1000s as set of headphones for commuting in on the tube and travelling in general, especially since play.com is selling them for £50. I like a good level of bass response (evidence by the fact that I use the Sony MDR-XB500s at home) and I was wondering if...

Do the Goldrings have good bass response, cos I've found active noise cancelling cans to be a bit lacking in that department before. And are they circum aural?

Can passive noise cancelling (full-sized) headphones ever be as good at blocking out outside noise as active noise cancelling headphones? I was wondering because on another thread I set up for recommending commuting headphones people were quite insistent on passive headphones.

I found that whilst the sound quality on the MDR-NC60s wasn't really that great, the active noise cancelling feature was wonderful on the tube. Will passive noise isolation really be up to the same standard?

And also I prefer circum aural headphones to supra aural ones, so actually does anyone have any suggestions for something similar, but circum aural and cheaper?

Hey, I've been looking around for a set of good quality, portable headphones, anything up to about £120. Basically I really dislike IEMs and find them quite uncomfortable so am looking for full sized headphones. Them being portable would be a bonus, but I have a bag that I can put my headphones...

But do ATHM50s have good base, because their technical details say they only go down to 15hz?

What do you think of Audio Technica ATHM50s in terms of my requirements, the folding design seems convenient?
