Am I Sonys biggest (portable) Head-Fi Fan??

I have a Sony D-E446CK and the EX70's if I can get either of them back! I lent them to a friend last july and forgot to get them back before school and then i've only seen him a few times since then and he promises to get them back to me, but who knows when. I've been gone from here a long time...

    Sony D-EJ01

I guess I should be clear about this, I wouldn't go and actually buy a gumstick for any cd player now cause they are overpriced, and it also seems as if the newer Sony gumsticks are lower quality than my old one thats still going strong. But I would get as much use as possible out of the free...

    Sony D-EJ01

I don't see why everybody complains so much about proprietary batteries. The BP-DM20 nimh battery for my Sony D-E446CK is about 4 years old and has gotten used several hours a day for most of its life and it still lasts about 5 or 6 hours out of the 9 hours it lasted when it was new. I...

The dumbest question ever asked ...

They don't usually blow too often, but Koss drivers (at least in the sportapros) can be damaged real easy so that you start getting a buzzing noise in the bass all the time.

    Question about the Panasonic 470

Gluegun, you already have one right? Are you just worried about when yours will break?

    Question about the Panasonic 470

I guess I've been lucky. I have a Sony discman with a 1200mah Nimh battery pack that charges in about 3 hours. I'm using a battery thats older than my discman. I used the one I bought for about 1 year and a half with no problems but then I lost it and a friend of mine had the same battery in a...

Sony MDR-EX70LP - Piece of crap?

123Kid, get EX70's for the music you listen. The bass is really pretty good, from what I've heard I don't think the 888's would be as good for that type of music. Also the ex70's are a lot more durable. I don't get much sibilance at all. I have fully broken in, 3 tipped, foam modded ex70's...

    panasonic 570 or 580

If you get an amp (which you will need with HD580's) then you'll want to plug it into the line out on the Panasonic 570. The 580 doesn't have a line out and it's cheaply made. Get the 570 if you can find it. Better yet, get the ultimate player, the D-777.

    Question about the Panasonic 470

Thought I should mention, be careful out there. You don't want something bad to happen like get hit by a car and drop your cd player on the ground with all ,your cd's and get them all scratched up, man! that would suck. :-) j/k editops dont know how this got in this part of the thread.

I took my dad's Grados to school...

I don't get weird looks anymore since I stopped using the Koss Sportapros and got Sony EX70's. I let one of my friends try them out and he couldn't believe how good they sounded. We were in the library and he just barely whisper "I Can't hear any of you!":-) He said I have to get some of these...

    Portable MD durability?

I once met a guy that has the Sharp 702 and he'd had it for a couple years and used it all the time and it was really beat up looking. It'd been dropped a lot and it still worked perfectly. Just an example to back up what Macdef said.

    Question about the Panasonic 470

Eagledriver, try holding it without touching the lid (like only hold it by the outside) I have done this and been able to run without the esp on as long as I cushion the shocks a bit with my arm. This cd player isn't affected by horizontal shakes like the Panasonic 470 is (w/o esp). Anyways, I...

    Question about the Panasonic 470

Eagle Driver, I never even turn the ESP on on mine when I'm walking or anything. The lid is a bit loose on it, and if you hold it in a certain way that makes the lid get bent or bang against the cd player it might skip but if your used to it it never does. The lid being loose doesn't bother me...

    old sony pcdp input..help

cdub, I think most of those cd players you mentioned would sound better than any of the current Sony or Panasonic pcd's and definately better than newer ones coming out. They aren't getting any better. The D-193 and D-200 are cheap bottom of the line made in china cd players with digital...

    Question about the Panasonic 470

I had the blue Panasonic 470 so that might be why it sounded so much worse than my Sony D-E446CK. The biggest advantage is that the Sony is a lot more durable. The Panasonic is really light and cheaply made and it broke completely after one fall to the floor. The Sony took a lot more than that...
