best Sub $200 Active, bookshelf speakers
No idea on the Microlab. I looked at them a few months ago but could not find a dealer in the US. Amazon and Newegg both have .CA sites. They would probably options at least to "look" at them. -
2 pairs of Audioengine A2's to connect in serial?
Quote: Quote: trog is correct. This wold be an extension for 2 channel stereo, more sound spread out in a larger area. it would not get you the surround effect. -
2 pairs of Audioengine A2's to connect in serial?
Quote: While I meant volume, that is all I can measure, I would have to guess quality as well. But for my setup and listening it was not really that I noticed. -
2 pairs of Audioengine A2's to connect in serial?
I would be surprise if you could NOT do what you are looking to do. I used the second line out of my A2's while I was comparing the A2's to other speakers. This ability is a little known but getting better known feature of the A2's. And it's a "dumb" feature. Meaning it knows nothing about... -
Budget Subwoofer
Quote: Astrozombie, Just because someone understands that a budget is something to stay within does not make them ignorant of what a good sub is. My setup is not for critical listening in my office and I would guess that the original poster is not having a critical... -
Budget Subwoofer
Quote: I try, I get a lot of this type of stuff on a computer forum I'm in. I try to stay in budget and just point out the limitations. Quote: I looked at the Polk as well. I got the older Dayton Sub-80 (the 800 is newer) because it had line level in and out. ... -
best Sub $200 Active, bookshelf speakers
Are you looking for audio speakers or gaming speakers? If you are looking for more gaming or even a 50/50 then you probably want at least a 2.1 system. A few that come to mind in no particular order are: Corsair's SP2500/SP2200 Klipsch's ProMedia 2.1 Altec Lansing's MX6021 Logitech’s Z623 -
Budget Subwoofer
I have a set of A2's that I have paired with the older version of this: Dayton Audio SUB-800 8" 80 Watt Powered Subwoofer Is it a serious listening sub, no not really. Does it add just enough to the A2's so I enjoy them more, yes. They make a 10" and a 12" that top out at $130. If... -

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately all but the Koss UR 40 are out side the 50-150 range when a mic is added. How are the: KRK - KNS - 6400? AKG K172 Shure SRH550DJ The seperate mic is interesting because most of what I had been looking at were either more business...- davidzvi

DAC and Swan M10/M20w or M50w's - Bang for the buck?
I like them, but I was looking for nice small near field audio at reasonable levels. I looked at others that would have been better if I wanted to crank it up. Cambridge Soundworks Extreme, for example, were nice at 1/2 volume and up. But the A2's sounded better at lower levels. Had I...- davidzvi

Fiio D3
Use the wall plug? Does it go away? Never even thought of plugging it into a usb on my computer. I'm using an optical cable to isolate it from as much interference as I can.- davidzvi

multi computer imput = reduced volume?
Quote: I checked the output levels, did not seem to affect anything. But the output volts could be different since one is off a mobo and the other is from the FiiO D3. Though I would tend to think the volts would be higher off the mobo than off the D3. Quote: I could...- davidzvi
