    Is Marantz CD4000 god?

"God" it is certainly not. "Good" it is, but not more. You will do mutch, mutch better if you save some more money and do a "jump" over the CD 4000 and even the next (CD 5000). Buy the CD 6000. And buy with confidence. It is much better then the two smaller brothers sound wise and...

Marantz Cd6000OSE LE or NAD 541i

thats a tough question and the answer might not be formulated as such. These two players are on about the same level but don't sound the same. So, only comparing them (in your own system would be best) will help you find out which suits you better. Cheers!

    who's to blame?

It might be that the "Volume" controls on the back of your new Parasound power amp are "Gain" controls (most likely of the passive kind, active Gain controls are pretty rare). Such power amps are meant to be used with preamps. It, very likely, can be that the output stage of the CD Player cant...

    Stereophile: $20 High-End Interconnect...

"I swear, half of the hifi press is sucks ass, Where the other half rocks. Leading the suck half would be stereophile. Leading the rockin' half would be TNT audio." You might be just right! Not so sure the other "half" is that good. I can't think of such great numbers of realy good Hifi...

How much does a player affect the Digital out?

"...old truths are falling." There is not only one way/aproach to good sound. Try to think about it. And remember it.

How much does a player affect the Digital out?

I will try to muddy the waters a bit further. I believe that CD transports actually affect the sound more than DAC's (in some cases at least). But the DAC's have made a big progress in the last few years. In the DAC the d/a chip itself plays a smaller role then the output stage. The proof for...

How much does a player affect the Digital out?

"...sorry, of course I never intended to spoil your thread that way (actually quite the opposite). " You are not the one (or two) who try to spoil this thread. I wish there were more guys like you who like to share experiences with others and much less those who wan't to prove us that such...

How much does a player affect the Digital out?

I didn't mean to sound respectless, but then I believe respect must be deserved what ever age someone is. So many transport "listened" to as two or three? Not mutch experience to build a valid "rule" , don't you think? As you know, with ageing people loose the ability to hear some...

How much does a player affect the Digital out?

Well, well Spad, Beside other stuff you should be aware of the fact that many things in Audio (and Life too, remember?) have no explanation yet, but that doesn't denies their presence or diminishes their effect. There are things that even modern science (not to mention some 30 years old...

    Stereophile: $20 High-End Interconnect...

How about to get back to "Earth"?! How does the cable "sound"? How do they compare with other cables? I believe the input of you allready having the cables can be of help to the others of us. Cheers!

    Putting Weight on CDP

I have mixed results with putting different kinds of "weigths" ontop of CD players. With the cheaper stuff it can put "things" in its place but with the higher end stuff it can overdampen the sound. So, its not an "works always" tweak but worth a carefull listen. Cheers!

Is Monster Interlink 400 MKII that bad?

Audio&Me wrote: "Yes they suck..." What a fine way with words. If someone is refined with his Audio as with words then his opinion doesn't mean... well, that says it all. No more comment needed...
