    The Fiio X3 Thread.

James,    This is a relatively minor issue but I think would be pretty easy to fix:   When you select Category/Albums, can you put the name of the artist in parentheses after the album title. E.g., instead of: "Strange Days", have  "Strange Days (The Doors"). I put in an old sd card--had...

Thanks. I really hope they can fix this issue with 64 gb cards in the next firmware update--I like to keep everything in folders. Until then, I'll stick with smaller cards for now or just use the browse mode for my 64 gb cards.   I did try swapping cards with the player on, and it worked...

Thanks--do you have any artwork, and if so, is that in the same folder as the songs?   Quote:

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I'm still having this problem with my 64 gb (Class 10) card:   It plays fine in browse mode, but when trying to index, it seems to throw the player into an endless loop. I only have about 70 albums, and each album is in a single-level folder. Some...

Thanks James. Not sure about the class--it's Sandisk, Mobile Ultra. I did notice a bug where if while I'm waiting for indexing, and press the home key (the one on the top left), the player locks and I have to reset. Also, while indexing, it does play the current song, but not the next--and...

Just got my X3. As others have said, the SQ is awesome. It may be premature to say this, but so far I prefer it over to the DX-100.   Question about indexing the SD card. I'm using a 64 GB card that I took out of my DX-100. The X3 played the files right away, but only through directory...

Quote: I have yet to hear the X3 (hopefully soon), and have never owned an IPOD. That being said, while I did like the sound of my 24-bit flac vinyl rips on my Rockboxed Fuze, there's no comparison to how those same rips sound on my DX-100. Rockbox downsamples 24-bit to 16-bit, so it does...

FYI, I called B&H and they expect their distributor to get it around August 5th, and they'll be ready to ship around the 12th.   So I hedged, and ordered one from MP4Nation. Hopefully MP4Nation will ship next week.

James,   Thanks for the updates on the agents, but could you tell me about when online retailers like B&H Photo Video should be receiving their batch?     Quote:

James, I assume that in the U.S. you're referring to distributors/wholesalers, not retailers. Could you possibly tell me when B&H Photo will be receiving their shipment?   Thanks.   Quote:

I just ordered an X3 from B&H Photo for $199.99 + $3.99 shipping. Ships in 7-14 days. Hopefully it will be sooner :)

    The Astell & Kern AK120

Waiting a few seconds is way better than the DX-100, which can sometimes be 15 minutes or more.   That being said, it would be a nice feature to not have any lag, especially when you're using the device to entertain friends and want to switch music at the spur of the moment but also want to...

    The Astell & Kern AK120

I was hoping that the AK120 with its two cards would have nailed this. It wouldn't be such an issue for me if they have 1.2 TB cards, but a 64 GB card can only hold about 70 hi-rez albums, which isn't all that much.    I can't justify shelling about $1300 without this feature.   Maybe...

    The Astell & Kern AK120

Sorry if this has been discussed before in this thread, but is there any kind of significant lag time when loading a new micro sd card? And is it possible to load a new card in drive 2 without interrupting the card that's playing in drive 1? I have a couple of TBs of hi-rez music on micro-sd...

[Impression] FiiO X3 – High Fi, Low Price.

Quote: I think usability is just as important as sound quality, and I don't see why it has to be sacrificed, just because of an attractive price point. After all, the UI is largely software. I am glad that the X3 has tactile buttons for song selection as a touchscreen is kind of annoying...
