Microphonics - is it a big deal? How to eliminate?

the clip works ok for me, but over the eat eliminates most of the bumping that passes up through the cable. I hear you on the bone conduction. In my work shoes, just walking on the sidewalk sounds like my heel is kicking a bass drum pedal. Ok, not that bad, but you understand.

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

Wanted to post a follow up on the main point of this thread, which is how well these earbuds (hf5's) are working for my bus commute. The isolation capabilities of these are incredible. I can basically listen to whatever o want as the bus drones during the course of my hour-long commute. I can...

Microphonics - is it a big deal? How to eliminate?

Is microphonics a big deal for you? What is the most effective way you've used to reduce or eliminate it? Do you like using a clip vs over the ear? What would you pay for a permanent, very effective fix to microphonics on your own earphones without having to replace your earphones? Or is your...

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

Got my Ety hf5 and just now getting a chance to listen ad I type. I can't believe what a difference this is! Flipping awesome! I'm coming from ibuds so take it for what it's worth, but wow. The bass is the best part of these things. Absolutely perfect for me. I can hear the detail of each line...

How would you describe iPhone Earbuds' sound

While I don't yet have anything to compare them too, I can understand what you're saying. Given that they're all I have had since getting my iPhone, I'm very eager to compare.

How would you describe iPhone Earbuds' sound

I'm waiting for my Ety hF5s to arrive. I got them mainly for isolation, but I know they'll also sound better than my ibud earphones that came with my iPhone 4. I've read a lot of fantastic reviews on this site of the many great iEM options on the market. And I've been reassured that my upgrade...

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

Ok - thanks for all the tips and suggestions. I went ahead and ordered the Ety HF5s. I'll post again later with my impressions, which I'm sure will not be very eloquently written. Many of you are really good at coveying your experiences with abaer of IEM's into words. Pretty fun to read. On a...

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

I came across it in a few spots - it 's probably not a big issue, but it was just something that left an impression on my mind as I tried to cram in some reading today.    Couple examples:   1) The leading post in the HF5 Appreciation Thread:  "I think that the average user will find it...

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

OK, I've done a little reading now on the HF5's and it sounds like they've got the answer for isolation.  However, I don't want that to be the only consideration.   I get the impression (from numerous threads) that you really have to insert these things unnervingly deep into your ear canal...

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

Thanks for the suggestions. I can see the Ety HF3's have a triple flange earpiece. How do the Shure Olives affect their isolation. Is it the ear pad that dictates the isolation. If so, could I just stick the Shure Olives on some other IEM that has better fidelity? Would the isolation be the...

Bus rider with tired ears - help me ditch my iphone headphones

First post. I need some new headphones, but I'm a total nooby. I have an ipod (iphone 4) and use the standard issue headphones. They're ok, but I do virtually all of my listening on my bus commute to/from work - over 2 hours a day mostly at freeway speeds.  Buses are loud, so I really have the...
