    Sony MDR-Z7M2 Headphone Thread

I finally bought some MDRZ7m2!! I don’t have that many pairs of cans anymore, but I do work with HD800 for over 8 years. I use an old SPL Auditor as my amp. Got these Sony’s as an alternate fun profile listen, loving the bass, makes the songs fun again. Comfortable on my head too, my baseball...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Just over 1 month in now. Pads are softened, sound is beautiful detailed and wide, Bluetooth always connects to my iPhone right away. Two small things: (1) Sometimes when I start them up, after they connect they’ll begin playing a completely random song on AppleMusic. I do exclusively use...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Back from my trip now, and today was first day using PX commute on subway. With delays on the train, my commute was just over an hour today and PX was still pretty comfortable, though it did start to get tight around my head, and a bit hot from the pads. When moving, these cans stay on my head...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

For me, the P5 was exciting when I first got it. Then to me it felt like I was missing out on many details, as compared to my other fun can which is M-100. PX for me has no pressure on top of my huge head (7 5/8th new era cap size) and I feel like I’m getting to hear all details of music from...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

Another thing I had to think about was, would I actually want to wear something so bulky like P7W on a commute? My head is already pretty huge and I think the PX space grey for me is subtle enough both in color and shape that I’ll feel ok wearing it out. Once the PX is positioned properly on...

    Bowers & Wilkins PX Noise-Cancelling Over-ears

I just picked up a pair of PX space greys today. Maybe I have really low expectations, but I think these are fantastic right off the bat. They don’t press on my head like the P5’s did, and the way ear pads cup around my ears is great. Having said that, I did start this journey wanting the P7W...

how much burn-in time was there, for user above?

    Grado e Series

They're definitely not lacking, but having said that, I just upgraded from HD650 and RS1i to HD800 and RS1e in last 2 weeks, and the difference is more noticeable looking "back" not forwards. My preferred headphone situation is to always have a pair of Sennheisers and Grados to balance things...

    Grado e Series

I'd read about how the new RS1e has supposedly shallower pads, but in all honesty, I haven't noticed that at all when wearing them. I didn't do a scientific measurement with photos or whatever, but by feeling alone, I didn't notice it at all and I completely forgot that was supposed to be an...

    Grado e Series

I sold my RS1i and got RS1e earlier this week. I had the previous version for at least a few years. To me, these are indeed better. They still have the wide soundstage, but I've always found the RS1i to have too much treble. Especially on modern recordings with heavy limiting, the sibilance was...

    Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread

I just bought HD-650 again, for the second time.  I had them back in 2004-2005 I think, but I was using them with the worst sources etc. back then.  This time around, SPL Auditor all the way, better files too.  As they're starting to burn-in, I'm enjoying them more and more.  Totally different...

The Beatles Remasters Review and Discussion Thread

I listened for many hours yesterday, and will continue today. Even though I 'grew up' on the Beatles because my Dad played it for me all the time, I've never really heard the music like this before. I enjoy both the Mono and Stereo versions - each has its place for sure. I have a few...

    Grado RS1i Impressions thread

the RS1i is my first pair of Grado's. I tried a variety of other phones before that including HD650's, and the RS1i is just my happy "let's enjoy the music" headphone. A bit different from the monitors that I record and mix music on.
