About the Burson v5i itself...is it possible to detach the metal lid from its main components? I personally don't feel confident about pushing the flanking capacitors outwards due to the amount of space the opamp takes up.

Well I have a 2014 Macbook Pro which does have a mediocre soundboard. But the one thing I do notice right off the bat is a more aggressive treble from the XD-05...

...Is it weird for me to not notice much of a difference between listening to music via the XD-05 and listening to the same music directly via the PC's soundboard?
