The flawed UA2 has been in the market for almost a year. Still no working version of it. No refund or exchange program. One of the best companies?- chi2

Shanling UA1 & UA2 - New line of portable DAC/AMP adapters
The seller considers this to be a problem of the manufacturer and I am with him. An exchange for a new unit of the same model does not solve the problems as it is a pricipal flaw of each and every UA2 ever produced. If Shanling can't provide a fimware that solves the issues, it should take...- chi2

Shanling UA1 & UA2 - New line of portable DAC/AMP adapters
@Shanling I have purchased the UA2 last year. Didn't return it despite frequent drop-outs because I expected Shanling to fix that with a new firmware version. Now I read that there is no fix to this. I want to return my unit for a full refund. Please tell me how to proceed.- chi2

Astell&Kern Launches KANN ALPHA Digital Audio Player
Found some basic measurements of output power of the Kann Alpha by hifinews.co.uk (https://www.astellkern.co.uk/downloads/ak/hfn-kann-alpha.pdf). Single ended it has 85mW into 32ohm (THD<1%). For a DAP of this size and weight claiming to be able to drive full size headphones that is...- chi2

Astell&Kern Launches KANN ALPHA Digital Audio Player
Tried my Kann Alpha with the DCA Stealth today. Even in balanced mode not usable at all. It was clipping even at very low listening levels. Extremely poor and disappointing behavior. The nominal 12vrms voltage swing don't mean anything as they are measured without any load.- chi2

QDC - Discussion and Impressions Thread
Crin has given the V14 a A+/A+ rating. IMO this highlights some consistency issues with his older ratings like for the VX and Gemini that, sooner or later, he will have to address.- chi2

Sort of a review of the V14. I'm posting the link here because there are still very few. https://inf.news/en/digital/c8bce30c130e5854a8f28035ede36e99.html- chi2

I never cease to be impressed by the V14's bass. Easily on U12t level and very atypical for BA bass. Very well extended, with weight, technically very competent and massively enjoyable. And no driver flex .- chi2

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
The level of the Oracle's upper treble and its metallic shimmer make it quite fatiguing for me. Given the fact that, in the frequency diagrams, the Oracle is the one out of the Thieaudio EST-lineup with the least aggressive treble, this was quite a surprise.- chi2

To my ears, please take into account my age-induced hearing limit of just above 14 kHz, the treble quantity of the two is comparable and the character and quality are pretty similar. Treble in both is very present and extended without being spikey or harsh. Regarding micro dynamics the Odin is...- chi2

Have the V14 since a few days and I am impressed. They are one of the most resolving in-ears I have and know of. The tonal balance in standard setup (0,0,0,0) for me is excellent. The highs that have been described in this thread as borderline piercing are just perfect to my ears. Brillant and...- chi2
